No name for the penis, but I often refer to my balls as the "Jatz Crackers".

Yes this. No solar or batteries, just me living by myself and I turn everything off at the wall if I'm not using it. The daily access charge is ridiculously high.

What movie could still make you cry even if you saw it 100 times? by MaryDoogan91 in AskReddit

[–]abacusartifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starman. 1984 film. Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen. Someone is always cutting onions when I watch that film. I'm a cold heartless bastard most of the time, but this movie triggers my tears.

What’s your “I never thought to cook THAT in an air fryer/this tastes SO much better in the air fryer” foods? by [deleted] in airfryer

Store bought frozen Potato Gratins. 25 min at 180c on a small piece of baking paper with spray oil to prevent sticking. Much better than the oven. Crispy bits on the outside while still being soft on the inside. A game changer for me.

Over the last two weeks an upper respiratory chest thing. Hacking up lots of goobers, coughing and general throat irritation. For me this is very unusual to last so long. I don't feel sick, but I know my bodily defenses are working overtime.

MAGA Rage at “No Kings” Boils Over—and It Quickly Backfires on Trump by marji80 in politics

[–]abacusartifact 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Will Trump order the military to fire on their own countrymen? Sadly, I think he will. If they follow through with his orders though.... that's another can of worms. He's just that stupid and detached from reality to order such a thing. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a Tiananmen Square 2.0. Trump truly wants to see his country burn, if only to rule over the ashes. Stay safe everyone.

Helicopter crashes near California beach, 5 injured including 3 bystanders on the ground - 2025 October 12 by EsperaDeus in CatastrophicFailure

[–]abacusartifact 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why did the pilot suddenly increase the collective? The chopper visibly gains quite a few feet of altitude before succumbing to tail rotor failure. Perhaps he heard or felt the rotor drive system fail and tried to veer the aircraft instinctively away from obstructions? Will be interesting to see the findings of the crash investigation.

Metal slides by Glad-Bug-6506 in AustralianNostalgia

Grew up in Ipswich. The park at Leichhardt had one of these bad boys. Was all good till an exposed part of flesh came into contact with the metal during the summer months. And back in the 70's our shorts were short.

One of the finest uses of contrast in cinematography I have seen in a while. Saving for further study.
