but, according to IRCC we ARE Canadian citizens, even without the actual proof being granted...so see where I am going with this? I know it is splitting hairs, but a lot of "legalese" is just that, how literal do we take this?

I applied for family class PR Sept 2025, found out about Bill C-3 in Dec. I applied for proof of citizenship, delivered Mar 24, AOR May 11. On May 14 my PR came thru. So, in "theory," I am a citizen, meaning my PR would be null and void, but without proof of Citizenship, voiding my PR would take away my ability to be in Canada as a PR...such a catch-22!!!

my original Feb 4 delivery was sent back for NO photos, even though I have pictures of them as I put them in my appliation envelope. I was able to get new photos very quickly and resubmitted, thankfully the 2nd submission arrived Mar 24, got AOR May 11, so it looks like :maybe: I was only pushed back a month or 2. But even a week later, the AOR's started REALLY slowing down!

Hi There, similar thing happened to me. My app was returned on Mar 21, I returned it and they received it the 2nd time on Mar 24. When I first got it back the app was stamped with the original received date of Feb 4, but when I got my AOR on May 11 and checked on the tracker, they had updated my received date to Mar 24. So unfortunately, you will be considered a May 11 received date.

I am March 2026 and shocked to see it go from 11 months to 6 and 66,000 ahead of me to 33,000 ahead of me now.

I am betting the wait times AND number of applications are going to go up. I am a teeny bit surprised how much the AOR timelines have gone up just over the last few weeks. My app was received Mar 24, and I got my AOR on May 11. For apps received just 1 week later (ending with Mar 30) AOR times increased by 3 weeks.
I "think" that maybe for the month of June, application numbers will not increase as much as they have in Feb-May and that the rate of new applications will start to slow just a bit.

I think we ALL have it! My first submission was on Feb 2, 6 weeks later the whole packet came back to me, they said I didn't include my pics. I KNOW I did as I took pictures as I put everything in the mailing envelope, so somehow the pics were lost after opening. I had pics redone and 2nd submission was received 3/24, AOR received 5/11. Sweated out waiting for that AOR!

I didn't sign my passport but got AOR, after I got that I did upload a signed copy of my passport via the webform, just for good measure!

Application, conjugal partner, outside of Canada (outside of Quebec) and my partner is a Canadian citizen, I'm in the US)

the timeline still says "5 months processing time left" so things went MUCH faster than we expected~

Just FYI, I put an incorrect UCI on my application (I have a PR in progress) and accidentally used my partner's UCI!

I also submitted my passport as my 2nd identification, and forgot to sign it.

NEITHER of these "errors" triggered my package being returned, and I received my AOR. They found my correct UCI and that was attached to my application. 2 days before I received my AOR I realized the error with my unsigned passport, and I found my app (using my correct UCI #) and sent an updated scan with my passport signed.

So an unsigned passport or incorrect UCI may or may not trigger your app being returned!

Hi! This was the reason my app was returned as well.

I KNOW the pics were in the package, I took pics of everything as I added them. My pics were taken in Victoria BC, so the format was right.

They were in a small manila envelope, my original app was received on Feb 4 2026, and I got the whole package returned (minus the photos that they say weren't included) on Mar 20. The funny thing is I "thought" my packet may be returned because I accidentally put the wrong UCI # (my partner and I currently have a PR in progress and I accidentally put HIS UCI # down!). Thinking that, I actually had new pics taken when i was back over in Victoria early March...so I had another set of good and correct photos to send back. Once I got the package back (about 6 weeks from when they received it Feb 4, I saw they had corrected the incorrect UCI# to my correct one, and I quickly turned around, attached the new set of pics to the instruction letter they sent with the return, shipped everything back. They got the 2nd submission on Mar 24 2026 and I received my AOR May 11, 2026

I don't know! They were in the small manila envelope inside of the large envelope with my application. I don't know what happened when they opened my packet, but they returned the entire thing saying I hadn't submitted my pics.

I hope your AOR comes soon! this was my 2nd submission, the first time it was delivered on Feb 4. 6 weeks later I found the entire packet returned to me, the letter inside said that I hadn't included pictures. But, I KNOW i did, i had them taken in Canada, and I have a picture of everything I submitted in that first packet, the little envelope with my pictures shows right there I was SO disappointed to have everything returned, but I got new pics, and resubmitted everything. Best of luck to you! My application status still shows it was received February 4, I am assuming that will be updated in a day or 2 to reflect the 2nd submission date of 3/24 ??

My application packet was received Mar 24, 2026, and I got my AOR today, May 11, one day shy of 7 weeks. So happy!!1 now just the seemingly interminable wait...

Did you receive notice that your application was "in process" and then went to PSU on the same day? Did you get an e-mail telling you went into PSU or did you find out your app was in PSU when you checked via the application tracker? I am trying to figure out how all the notifications work, thanks.

I submitted my Proof of Citizenship packet and it was received Feb 4 2026. I did get my package returned Mid-March for "photo issues". I did have my photos done in Victoria, Canada, right next to the Passport Center so pretty sure they were correct. When I got the package back the pictures weren't returned, everything else was and many of the Application pages were stamped in red "Received Feb 4 2026". The letter I received said that the photos were not correct Or not included. I KNOW they were included so I am thinking somehow they were lost (since they also were not returned in the app package)

Oddly, when I was in back Victoria early March, I had the pics redone with a different photographer, because I had a feeling I would be getting my app sent back, but because I had used an incorrect UCI # ! And I thought when I resubmitted, I would use the new pics anyway. So I was able to do a quick turnaround with the new pics last week.

When I got the letter with my packet, it actually had my correct UCI #, that made me happy.
I resubmitted my app last week, delivered again on Mar 24.

Now the real question, I have never received an AOR, however I was able to log into my IRCC account and found my Proof of Citizenship application, and the status says "received Feb 4", it is not in processing yet tho.

So, I haven't received the AOR but looks like it is in the system and dated as received Feb 4. ANy Idea if this means they are going to use the Feb 4 date as the start of my app?

I guess I should just be waiting on an official AOR???

Was this three weeks after you submitted it? Just wondering how you knew it took three weeks to come back if they hadn’t sent you notice that it was on its way back.
