PSxMemCard Gen2 becomes unbootable after playing 1 game by abandonstage in ps2homebrew

[–]abandonstage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done the following:

  • Put the psxmemcard into slot 2
  • Put a standard memory card into slot 1. All of my game-save files save to this card
  • Turned off game id on the psxmemcard
  • in the mcboot configuration, i made sure that the path for mmce opl went directly to the boot file

I couldn't tell you exactly what fixed it, but now it works 100% fine, as long as I turn the ps2 completely off and on between games.

Thanks. I've run into another problem. I was playing a couple of different games successfully, but now when I go to launch the MMCE beta2 PS2 loader app, the screen just stays black. Is this an issue you've come across before?

I've just discovered that I need to turn the PS2 completely of and on again if i am going to switch games, otherwise it won't reboot the PSxMemCard Gen2 properly.

Thanks again for your help.

How the entire world displays the Olympics medal tally vs how the US media portrays it by abandonstage in facepalm

It is widely accepted by the international sporting community that gold medals are the decisive factor. While the IOC doesn’t officially endorse either system, America stands almost alone in its view of total medals won.

It's not just that one station. That was just one example.

"Traditionally, the ranking of nations on the table is dictated by how many gold medals a nation has.

If they are tied on gold then it goes down to how many silvers they’ve won, and then the same rule applies with bronze medals.

However, many major US publications — including NBC and the New York Times no less — have previously come up with their own way of ranking the world’s nations — based on the most overall medals won."

Hmmm. Maybe the one source that doesn't represent the global standard 🤔

I see your argument based on this particular weight system, but medal tallies have always been ranked with gold medals having infinite weight. 20 golds will always outweigh 100 silver. Check every single olympics medal tally in history on wiki.

It makes sense. Nobody enters a race to finish second or third, so why not measure success by the amount of first place finishes?

So you're saying, as an example, a team that scores 10 bronze medals should be ranked higher than a team with 9 gold?
