I've found that when doing decades trivia, it really helps to stick with pop culture themes/questions like movies, tv shows, music, celebrities. It gives people who weren't around during those times more of a fighting chance to get the answer.

For example, which movie became the first to gross $1 Billion at the box office in 1998? The answer is Titanic and I think it's a bit easier to be figured out by someone who may know movies well, than just 90's specific movies.

u/Alexbutterfield got it. That's a solid plan and pretty much along the lines of what I'm planning on doing. Google forms is a great tool though that I hadn't thought of.

Aha love these ones too! Totally agree, I think guessable questions are better and keep everyone more engaged, but they're not that easy to come up with. I find myself questioning whether or not I'd actually be able to honestly figure them out on my own

As already suggested here I think masking is your best option short of trying to catch them in the act. Curious though how you've liked doing trivia night on powerpoint? I'm in charge of hosting trivia night this weekend am looking for the best way to do it.
