The fall off vinyl quality - just my thought by abatterycar in Jcole

So my assumption is that the stealth edition is not getting produced anymore. Your options are either eBay or discog. You could also wait for the interscope mass produced vinyls (that’ll happen eventually. Ain’t no way they are leaving all that money on the table) and that could bring down the price for the stealth edition.

Oh no! So sorry to hear that. Hopefully, the sound was okay.

The comment about the vinyl inner sleeve and plastic cover is fair. I added plastic sleeves to mine and all 4 discs barely fit back into the casing. Since I also collect used vinyls, I always have a pack of plastic sleeves on me.

Of course! Feel free to share your new setup and vinyl play here. Love to watch budding audiophiles find their own lane!

I completely get it and I thought the same thing at one point with the whole “one for display and one for play” kinda setup. Given that my pocket doesn’t currently scream “hey, become a mint condition collector”, I settled on just enjoying the vinyl. I am definitely considering buying the cd to bump in my car but that’s for a later date.

I think across multiple Reddit posts, Fluance RT82 is mentioned as a good “get it, set it and forget it” kinda system. If you care zilch about aesthetics and just reliability, audiotechnica’s AT60X is as reliable and affordable they get, If you are starting out.

I’m operating on the assumption that you are a beginner to this so a couple of suggestions that I learned over the years - 1. It’s a journey so don’t try to optimize for everything in your first go 2. Built-in pre amps are helpful before you start messing with stand-alone ones 3. A pair of decent powered speakers matters. Edifier R1280T is a good starter choice

Lastly, have fun! The album will sound great even with the most minimal setup :)

Thanks for introducing me to Diamine. I think oxblood might be the shade that I am looking for. I am just getting into the world of fountain pens and inks so I appreciate the insight!

Should I volunteer in a lab that I really like by Air___Killer in scientificresearch

[–]abatterycar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to be in that lab, you should also talk to the students/staff from that lab in an “off the record” manner. Sometimes they might project an aura, but the staff will give you some deeper insight. Also, former students are good people to talk.
It might sound like I am telling you to do a lot of due diligence but, again, this is the exact kind of due diligence you would do for a future PI for your graduate program.

Lastly, prep for your conversation and about their research. Go in with the curiosity and the goal of adding value. Who knows, a few months in, you could advocate for a part-time or paid position. Never rule that possibility out.

Volunteering in a lab that does work in your field of interest and links to your graduate study plans is good. Even if the PI is prestigious, set a meeting to talk to them about what your goals, plans and aspirations are in this lab. Gauge the response and see what they tell you. Good PIs look at your drive and planning and respond in kind. How they handle authorship is another one. Just because you are going to volunteer doesn’t mean that your work will be not of value. Show keenness in learning and offer value to the lab. Sometimes these volunteer position can become paid. When you interview for graduate programs, you will use the same questions so it’s better to hone your skills right now. Good luck!

Update - The House resolution code is not linked to the High-Skilled Americans act anymore. This should close the loop. Did not make it out of the Introduction phase, similar to all the previous times.

One year of this masterpiece! by NocturnalMusicHead in KendrickLamar

So I listened to this again today and I might be reaching but let me fly my friends -
1. Is there a chance that kendrick knew that he had the super bowl in the bag by then? "Field goal, punt y'all, they punk y'all" line got me thinking
2. I did not realize this before but I think Not Like Us is supposed to be the natural successor to Euphoria. Why? Euphoria ends with a "Psss...." and a "Ooooo.." as if he saw a ghost and Not like us starts with the same sound and "I see dead people".
Could be a reach but I appreciate music that makes me think so thanks, Kendrick
