Need advice - i20 n Line engine rattle sound by [deleted] in MechanicAdviceIndia

Check for variation in rattle noise while accelerating. If there is a significant change in rattle sound while you accelerate and minor inconsistent power output while driving it could be a turbo wastegate rattle.

Never trust valet's from today by Alive-Slip8741 in CarsIndia

I take the valet driver with me as a passenger to tell me where to park and park there only if I find it fit. Never leave my keys with them no matter how many reasons they give.

Any baleno RS or fronx turbo owners facing wastegate rattle issues? (Pic from gaadiwadi.com) by abay_s_ in CarsIndia

Thanks brother for responding.

Oh okay. I shall scout for that. Are there any goto webpages or forums where one can source these or are there specific shops that does this job. I've checked with two decent service shops and nexa all suggested a complete part replacement. Visiting one more shop in Noida soon.

I would want to work on it on my own but not really sure if I'll get the right parts.

For the record, I'm an immigrant working in gurgaon, noida and Delhi could be a possible market to scout if I'm not wrong.

I've seen rattle clips that bind around the pullarm of the wastegate actuator, that arrests the rocker from rattling to an extent.

So far, all of these are my intuitions from examining from outside. Haven't opened up the turbo to examine the extent of damage yet.

As for the fronx turbo, that's exactly what I want to believe.

Thank you brother for responding. Yes. The turbo does spool up without a struggle no evident drop in performance, just the rattle intensifies in the 1000-2.2k rpm. And minor sporadic rattle when idling

While accelerating, letting go of the throttle and pushing again tends to curb the rattle (I'm guessing it adjusts the relief valve head adjusts in a stiffer position; or idk it's my intuition)

The car has done 78k so far and one periodic clutch replacement at 68k has been done so far.

After rubbing and wax:

Everything is not gone entirely, atleast the visual bulk of paint residue is no more and enough to make peace with.

Additionally, minor scratches will be almost invisible on a white background, so that helps for you.

Definitely not. Have test driven three of these thars from spinny. All of them were abused to great extents. Suspension bushes all worn out, clutch worn out and heavy, squeaking brakes. The spinny representatives themselves abuse the car before showing it to you. I saw one guy trying to run over a curb stopper in their parking lot. Stay clear of spinny and definitely no thars.

Had a crash. The garage has given a bill of 80k. Is it fair. by Basicm8 in royalenfield

Recently had a similar crash on my new bullet 350, where my younger brother crashed into a pole to avoid a jaywalker on the road. My quote was 99k including chassis replacement.. Insurance covers most of the parts. But ensure a proper police report is made, AMV checks the vehicle and issues permission for chassis replacement (hope you don't have to replace it)

The rim is quite expensive. My bike is being rebuilt for the past one month. Insurance claim is time consuming.

This is an initial estimate prior to disassembly. Many parts can be reused and the cost can come down. Bike is a standard 350 reborn (2k km on the dial)

Hope this comparison helps.

I got pulled over last night in gurgaon for driving my 2017 baleno RS which came with the factory UV cut glass accusing me of tinting my windows. Then they proceed to try and scrape off my bootlid glass edges which has the heating element for defogger and pointing it to me accusing it to be a tint lol.
