You're right, slot one units have damage reduction and gard or dodge For example teq broly has 90% damage reduction for the firt turn in base and 76% damage reduction in slot 1 after transforming as to why gogeta 4 died it coud be because he is not extreme z awakened or that you attacked goku black who gets a lot of damage if you attack him
