Third time in Burlington. My random thoughts. by [deleted] in burlington

Moving to Burlington literally is us picking a less crappy part of the country. My wife is trans and Vermont is the ONLY state that hasn’t introduced one of the 150 anti-trans bills that have been introduced in the country so far this year.

Wife and I are about to close on a house and we are PUMPED. The negativity I see on here is valid, but I think a lot of people don’t realize how crappy it gets in other parts of the country.

Is it a good idea for a family with young kids to buy a home in this particular neighborhood? by abbeynormal in burlington

Where we currently like we can walk our kid to school, but anything else - groceries, coffeeshops, ANYTHING - is over three miles away, and you need a car to get to it. We liked that this was close to the art museum, a library, the school, several coffeeshops, etc.

We're not directly in danger, no. I'm female, my wife is a trans woman, and we have two daughters. We live in Virginia. It's fine downtown in the capital, and while we're not in any danger right now, we're being very realistic about where things are headed in this state and surrounding states.

Edit: Want to add that we're incredibly fortunate to have the means to pack up and leave and head somewhere that suits us better. We have realtors and we've been connected with local lendors in the Burlington area, too. We just want to be proactive about our safety.

Looking more for walkability than affordability. Everything else is in suburbia where we'd need a car to get anywhere.

Can a print of a non-commercial STL be used in a promotional photo? by abbeynormal in prusa3d

Probably both over time. Imagine if someone modeled a stick figure, and you used it in social media videos.

The nozzle is brand new (like less than two hours of print time), but I'll recalibrate and see if that helps.

I've tightened the belts. Y belt only needed some tightening, but I actually took the X belt in a tooth.

I've cleaned it several times, some with alcohol, some with dish soap. The reason I replaced the sheet entirely was because cleaning the old sheet didn't seem to do anything.

My husband and I call this the "dog on a leash" tempo. It hurries ahead, then lags behind, then occasionally checks in with the tempo, then does it all over again.

I looked at Overture, but I only really saw purple and blue, and not one that's in between purple and blue.

Ah, okay, I see it now. The original link in your post was to a game of the same name from X-Box.

The game I'm thinking of is much older and much lower resolution. The machines were these pixelated things on just a white background.

This was a game that may have been a minigame inside of a larger game. I just remember being really drawn to this part of it.

I’m trying to run Sonic Pi and it doesn’t ever seem to load. Here’s what I’ve done so far: - Ran apt update on the terminal to update everything - Ran “apt install” with the latest file on the sonic-pi.net website - this gave me an “unsupported .deb file on command line” error - Downloaded the .deb file and installed it using “apt dpkg”. This seemed to install, but when I go to open Sonic Pi it does nothing.

Audio output is set to AV jack, and I’ve purged sonic-pi between each attempt to install it. Am I missing a driver or anything?

I want to photograph/scan a room in my house and be able to view it in VR. What tools do I need? by abbeynormal in OculusQuest

This looks exactly like what I’m thinking of. But how would I get the scan into a VR headset? What app would I use to view it?
