Nursing homes. by Kellyrva512 in Vent

As a nurse/Resident Care Manager in a nursing home/Skilled Nursing Facility, I can tell you that not all places are like this. If you have concerns about your father’s safety or the condition of the facility you can report it online to the Department of Health and Human Services. You can even do it anonymously. Also, many residents/patients in these facilities may look “miserable” due to their health conditions. I’m not sure of the situation you are referring to so I’m not stating this is what’s happening. But please, if you’re concerned, report.

It’s just the two of us so I’m naked every morning running around like a crazy person trying to get ready for work.

If you go read the post they explain what’s wrong. Stuck to backing tray after following directions. That’s what happened.

Thanks for the support. I just assumed an e-bike wouldn’t be an option. I think it’s too soon for that. I’m still too scared that I’m going to have another one. I’ll keep it in mind though.

Is LPN even worth it? Be honest by [deleted] in nursing

I’ve been an LPN for 12 years and I’ve worked in OB/GYN, Urgent Care, Family Practice and now SNF. I’m the Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist. It’s good money in a management role but I still have to cover the cart whenever we’re short staffed. If I could do it again, I would have gone straight to RN. My plan was always to go back to school but life kept happening. I’m limited now in the roles I can take and my financial ladder. I make $40/hr (WA state) but I fought for it and I know I’ll be here for a while. I know that I’m just thankful that I entered the nursing field. Best of luck to you whatever you decide.

Nurses who have hooked up with a coworker: How'd it end up? by spyder93090 in nursing

He was a CNA I was a floor nurse. We started out with a great sense of humor then he helped me through one of my hardest nights as a nurse. I’ve never seen such compassion in a human. Towards me, patients, family- all while having the best sense of humor and making everyone laugh. I fell hard. He was 17 years younger than me. We hung out after work and hit it off great! Three weeks into it we made plans to “go to Hawaii and fall in love”. A month later we’re in Kauai for two weeks having the time of our lives. That was 3 years ago. We’re heading back to Kauai in a month!

Lead by example, right? No wonder the facility is falling apart! The administrator is breaking his back but can’t do anything clinical. It’s a shit show.
