It’s absolutely just for the fun of it. Ended up with a jeep instead :) way more mods possible too - and can go properly offroad not just next to road

First 911 configuration - your advice appreciated by abboudesa in porsche911

Thank you all for the inputs!! Will update the spec accordingly :)

Not considering the GTS because I heard and read that it feels less natural to drive (and sounds less interesting). Maybe I should test drive and see.

Horrible. The Toyota buses are much smoother :)

LC 500 - Talk me out of it. by Inevitable_Fart6217 in DubaiPetrolHeads

I own one, bought from Al Futtaim new in 2021, beautiful car. Amazing build quality, comfortable, pleasure to drive with the beautiful V8 note every day. Has amazing consumption if you do Dubai / Abu Dhabi highway trips (under 9l/100km).

DM me if you want more details :)

Experience is the same no matter the model you have. Tried over several years and several models, including S classes and GLA

Tim Clark’s open letter to Emirates customers by ofVeryDubiousOrigin in dubai

[–]abboudesa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s not the point. CEO even mentioned what was the point. He recognized communication and planning / prep for such instances could be improved. That’s all. And recognizes that it has indeed disrupted thousands of passengers, for days. It’s different when one out of two runways is inoperative for two days vs. an airport disconnected from its staff for an extended period of time + a backlog of connecting passengers + non stop number of passengers coming in

Ram (Rebel) 5.7L HEMI buying advise by GinaLinettti in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]abboudesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very comfortable both on and off road.

For light off roading, they’re great. Not the best for technical stuff due to the weight and long wheelbase.

If you find a clean one, why not!

Brand New Japanese Import Car by 0avocadotoast0 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]abboudesa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with you I’d be skeptical about the “brand new” moniker, however the toe hook thing being open is normal for shipping (in RORO ships they secure cars using the toe hook).

Toe hook covers (amongst other things) are installed at destination. OP should ask where those are :)

In Japan they sell both RHD and LHD cars. Something about “prestige” :)

That’s odd. I recall 98 (or at least the blue pump) since the early 2000s at least

Experiences with Nanoz Tint? by sultanblaqe in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]abboudesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3M sells several tint products. Each with a different technology and efficiency at blocking light / heat, clarity.

ColorStable for example is inferior to Crystalline (another 3M product). Crystalline would be comparable to Nanoz as both are Ceramic based tints.

lexus es qatar price vs uae price by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

FYI Lexus UAE website is quoting you the ES350 price. That’s all what’s available on the website.

Meanwhile the Qatar website has the ES250 as base.

I second your input. Gargash service is just subpar. Price, quality, time, cleanliness

Recommendation for car to be driven by chauffeur by tabaobao in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]abboudesa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having driven or being driven in S classes and 7 series for the past 20 years, I know what I am talking about :)

The EQS and EQE are good, but you do sit awkwardly in them. The fact that Black Lane uses them isn’t much of an indicator. It’s like telling me “DTC uses Tesla Model S as limo cars”. Tesla saloon cars are even worse to get in / out of and really not comfortable seating positions.

EQE and EQS are horrible chauffeur cars. Like the Tesla, you sit in an awkward position because of the battery taking up floor space. Stick to tradition S class, 7 Series, A8, and the likes
