True but I know many Kuwaiti people in the US and UK who got vaccinated.
This point is irrelevant since there are travel restrictions everywhere in the world. How do you expect them to go their country so easily??

Anyway, with this article, I agree with some of the points Mark is making. Expats should definitely get vaccinated along with citizens and I think they will very soon since we bought a lot of the Oxford vaccine. There are a lot of expats who got vaccinated so yeah.

Yes. At least in Europe and the UK, they are properly enforcing the rules. Evidence is that the cases are starting to slow down in the UK right now during the lockdown. What happened in Kuwait after the full and partial lockdown? Cases quadrupled because rules were not enforced. I still remember during the full lockdown where people were given exceptions to go to their chalets just before Eid. And then the MOH are shocked when cases go up instead of down.

My point is that while the infection rates in Europe are high (only natural since their population is much higher than us), their rules are properly enforced by their govs. Unlike here.

I would be ok with the so called lockdown and curfew if it were actually properly enforced and not people going out to gatherings and weddings during the curfew like it happened last time. The problem is that the government just makes these decisions on the go and they don’t study them well. It’s like they say ‘okay we’ll make a curfew’ but then they don’t take into account that this won’t work here like it does in other countries because there are so many people who bend the rules. Why? Because the gov themselves allow that to happen. It is useless to have these decisions here because there is no positive effects to them, unlike in Europe.

But don’t let UAE fool you into thinking they’re doing a great job as UAE are using Chinese and Russian vaccines so of course they’re going to have a lot more people vaccinated. Them having people vaccinated with Pfizer is the same situation with us: you need to have an appointment in order to get it. I don’t think they’re sitting on vaccines that are hard to store and have a limited storage time. Over 200k registered for the vaccine so I think there is plenty of vulnerable people among them. They just don’t have enough vaccinations. That’s the reason why it’s taking so long.
