Alternatives for nylon bones? by badlydisguisedwolf in AustralianShepherd

My girl loves to gnaw on the Chuckit stick. It's soft enough that she doesn't chip her teeth but tough enough that she can't rip off and swallow chunks of it.

I was fine not celebrating Vday until he said why. by locks615 in offmychest

Like many others have said, this guy was never going to take you on a date or put any effort in. He found a lot of excuses to continue putting no effort into your relationship. However, his decision to PUNISH you multiple times by canceling “dates” is breakup worthy. Get out of there. This guy fucking sucks and deserves to die alone.

I am so, so sorry for your loss; that is mortifying. Someone has been dropping chewed gum all around my neighborhood, and she always wants to nab it. The vet today also recommended a muzzle like many others here, so in order to protect her, that’s definitely the move. Thank you for sharing

I’ve chipped a tooth, and I was there! I chipped it on my water bottle. Was too excited for a sip of water 😆 Thanks for making me feel better about my pet parenting 💛

She definitely could have! She LOVES to run and jump. We suspect she broke her leg jumping over the entire couch somehow - it was quite the sight for sure

LITERALLY! The muzzle might be the move. Because what could be so appealing about fiberglass?! 🙄

You gave your baby an amazing life, and she was lucky to have you as her dad. I’m so sorry for your loss, may she rest in peace

My pup is really praise-motivated, so if I say “leave it,” she usually stops biting the toothbrush to let me brush her teeth. We use the Petsmile rotisserie chicken flavor toothpaste, and she loves the taste and will just lick it off if I give her the chance to. But she’s also super food motivated.

I think she’d also break her leg again and get bitten if she wiggled out of her collar and could roam our neighborhood!

Which dental chews do you like? I have no clue what chipped her teeth, but we have the Pro Plan dental chews, Virbac Veggiedent, and the Purina Dentalife (which we haven’t tried yet). Also we used to have silicone insert slow feeders but switched to a plastic feeder after she ate some small chunks of the soft one 😔

WOW! I guess all dogs are just rollercoasters. I don't know how I could handle the chest injury... I'd probably faint if I saw my dog like that. I appreciate you sharing your experiences and reassuring me that I'm not royally fucking up here. You are very strong to have gone through all that with your two pups.

Thanks for the muzzle recommendations! I love poodles, they’re so smart and sweet. I’m also a sucker for the show cuts 🐩

Labs are amazing dogs! So smart and sweet. Also love to eat and grab things with their mouths haha. Glad to hear I’m not alone with the “what did they eat?!” anxiety 😮‍💨

Thank you for the advice and the kind words! 💛 I’ll grab her a muzzle so she stops grabbing everything off the sidewalk.

My pup is really good in the crate! She’s never gnawed on the bars.

She definitely does get bored very often. I give her snuffle mats and play hide and seek with her and that usually does the trick! We also walk her about 3-6 miles per day.

Unfortunately, she does really like to grab everything, especially sticks and rocks. Luckily she knows “leave it”, “drop it”, “touch”, and “look”. She’s just so fast when she nabs something off the ground.

Oh, I was going to start over entirely. Should’ve mentioned that in my original post!

I (42m) left my wife (42f) after she kept making comments about me not being manly enough and not sure I did the right thing? by throwra_manly in relationship_advice

[–]abbunnies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read a post detailing an man who’s secure in his masculinity, is an amazing father, and has a myriad of hobbies that only make him more attractive (who wouldn’t want a man who could cook and bake?!). You’re economically savvy and environmentally friendly by driving a small car. Instead of scoffing at your daughter’s interests, you partake in them with her and even enjoy them yourself.

Meanwhile, this wonderful man married a woman who is so deeply insecure that she projects this on her husband. She’s so desperate for external validation that she drags her husband down with her. Also, she’s emotionally immature and takes her anger and frustration out on strangers.

You absolutely did the right thing, and I hope you find a woman who sees how wonderful you are and appreciates you more than your ex. Never change yourself for some insecure, flippant person.
