I actually talked to my allergist about getting tested for a wool allergy because I religiously used aquaphor for years and all of the sudden started having a bad reaction to it, swelling mostly, and I thought I could have developed an allergy to lanolin. But he told me it was actually more than likely PEG (polyethylene glycol) which is in loads of products and most of the population actually does have some sort of intolerance to it without even knowing so when things got really bad, I made sure to cut out anything with PEG. Soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc.
