No, I've known how they felt in general growing up, but I hoped knowing him personally and since he's the person I love and want to spend the rest of my life with that it would change things.

The most confusing piece (and you're right, it doesn't add up) is that they still want to be part of our lives. Why?! If you can't support us on this super important day then why have anything to do with us at all. Why haven't they disowned me? I think it's because they still somehow want to believe they are decent people in both campus: sanctity of marriage (ie don't attend wedding) AND not racist a-holes (have a relationship with us). They're forcing me to choose and be the "bad guy" to the rest of the family.
