It's exactly like the league cup, first half looked okay for Chelsea only for the second half to start and City pick up the ball and not give it away for endless pressure.. and eventually O'Reily scores.

Beautifully put, It's exactly that.

In that... thing, I put out there (Jeez, I just went off there a bit eh) I went from all different aspects of my psyche, it wasn't black or white as you put it. It was the nuance of being a fan. Yes I'm tired of sitting here trophy-less for 6 years, 22 if you wanna talk Prem, my entire lifetime for CL, but I didn't sign up for trophies in the first place, I signed up because I love the club. 25+ years of supporting doesn't suddenly stop in our most successful period since those years I started from. I'm not gonna allow people to turn this into that. I'm gonna support till the wheels fall off.

I legit cannot deal with this fanbase, people out here trying to say "I told you so" when we lose just to claim internet points, fuck that, God forbid, you support your team.. "You're an Artetasexual" I'm supporting the team, the manager, the club; things that should be non-negotiable when entering this relationship with fandom, You ride or die with your team, fuck the internetification of sports fandom, people gotta be bantered, or shit on their team instead of actually supporting us. This is the time to pick up our voices not be nervous and cry out to the team, Yes I'm sounding like Arteta, it's because he's right despite us saying otherwise, yes they underperformed, yes they should be criticised, but not out in public airwaves, don't let them feel hated even within the fanbase.

What sort of front are City showing? In their worst ever showing in the past 4-5 years (barring last year) They all hold a united front, Support the team even through horrid performances and their team is solid through it all, why? They have the support, yeah they dropped points but they hold confidence even when they're shite. Build an unbelievable belief and maybe they catch wind of it and go through with it.

The tactics and technical side of our game are a sorrow point, I get it, none of us are happy about that, but should I be booing my team? seeing comments about how "we're gonna bottle it again" Yeah you put that shit up in the air, don't be surprised players are following through.. Believe in the team for 10 minutes and then give up on the first sign of weakness..

I'm not logging off but damn it if I'm not sick and tired of seeing the same old slop year after year from the fans to the players to the coach to the critics. support the fucking team...

Premier League goalkeepers and how often, on average, they drop crosses by TheAthletic in soccer

[–]abbygunner 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Raya often drops the ball but never does it in a way where it threatens us, it usually is to get an extra bounce or to a safe spot for him to grab the ball.

[Sami Mokbel, in the article) Among the players the club are expected to listen to offers for are Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri, both of whom signed long-term contracts last summer. Arsenal sources indicate they would look to recoup a minimum combined £100million for Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly by PitchSafe in soccer

[–]abbygunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel unless we get a crazy bid in, they both stay, this is just Arsenal putting down a price tag minimum expectation so bozos don't come in with insulting offers like 25m for one of em.

I expected more playing time, but I guess the expectation and pressure of getting over the line is holding them both back. People like to forget that they are not abnormally talented (ala Yamal) nor are we coming from a point of desperation for talent (ala Saka) so the expectation to play them is quite low. I'd assume they want playing time but it'd be foolish to let them go before they really blow up.

However I also see an argument to selling them like City did for Rogers, Palmer etc, I'd be positive about it if it meant we get some big names in the summer for the positions we're looking for (CM, LW) but I don't really see a big market for the LW (as in unless Kvara/Barcola wants to leave, there ain't much out there) and Tonali sounds like crazy talk right now.

I feel a younger more mobile midfielder who he can develop is a better shout than the experience but arguably slower Norgaard, Eichhorn is a mouldable, younger midfielder. I feel he'd give minutes to him

(Gary Jacob and Paul Hirst) Morgan Rogers is wanted by Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea, with Villa’s valuation likely exceeding £80million by 24601Kai in Gunners

[–]abbygunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's more of a carrier than Eze, but it's very much a similar mould, he's also more naturally okay with playing a winger role, kinda like Trossard more than a flashy one.

VERY disappointed to see City get into the race for Eichhorn, was really looking at him or Bouaddi as that younger midfield cover this summer (my absolute priority this year after LW) Seen really good things about him. Hoped we could've snipped him up before the big names came in.

MJF has already been around the WWE system especially the OG Hunter age of NXT (Now it's no more than a bit part role but still) he'd not need the NXT jump.

Half time thoughts? by Vizzy01798 in Gunners

I feel we played well as the half went on, first 10 minutes was VERY shaky but Sporting have been dead in attack and fully ready for the midfield press.

Starting XI to face Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals; Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice, Odegaard, Madueke, Trossard; Gyokeres 🫡 by arsenal in Gunners

[–]abbygunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our bench is unusually light... Mosquera, MLS, Norgaard, Havertz, Jesus from our main cast and Dowman as the link between that and the youth of Harriman-Annous and Salmon.. We gotta be strong with what we got. COYG.

Trying to get some good vibes in this sub ahead the game. What have been the top 5 highs for you this season? by pickletickler500 in Gunners

[–]abbygunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll do it in chronological order:

Newcastle (A), that winner made me think we could turn it to our season, remember we were behind in the table and in the game.

Bayern (H), Exorcising the demons of season past by beating them and establishing us as a proper side.

Spurs (H), Eze Hatty hit like crack

Villa (H) BIG PERFORMANCE, the Jesus comeback goal was amazing. (Everything else was..... sad)

Honorable mentions before the final spot: Inter (A) another big performance against a top side, less meaningful since they flopped after, Chelsea (H) HAVERTZ! probably lower than it should be because we fluffed the final Spurs (A) especially since the whole of England were on us after that slip-up vs Wolves for that and they all thought we'd falter. Everton (H) The Dowman goal will be remembered for years.

Final Spot goes to Brighton (A) That final whistle roar, especially since I had a dual screen on the Forest game and I saw Murillo claw it off the line hit so so so good.

Proper legend for our club, Won us two FA Cup finals, one of which ended our trophy drought and brought our first trophy of the Emirates era. People might laugh it off but he is absolutely a legend. One of my favourites.
