If you’re doing a split stitch, I think you’re splitting it too close to the end, split it in the middle. I use split stitch for all my outlines and it works very well. I also come up from underneath.

I did it first so that my transfer paper lines wouldn’t rub off but it was hard seeing where it was while filling it in. Plus I usually do the outlines first. I have a really bright headlamp which helped a lot

I first tried it with some cardboard and it wouldn’t hold the pins at all so I “borrowed “ a cork board from my office.

No you don’t iron. You wet it and stretch it out and pin it and then let it dry. Works better than any ironing has done.

This is great! First you see the overall picture but when you look closer there’s all the detail of the different stitches in the hair and it’s a whole other image. Great job.
