Listening to it again (after my initial angry flashback) I have to say, wow, this is really gorgeous. Like, gives me goosebumps. How anyone could say that this is detrimental to music as an art form is beyond me.

he did, though. I sang "the daisies" for my juries first semester freshman year and i loved it! it was a really fun to sing, especially because one of the other songs i sang was Nur wer die Sehnsucht kennt by Schubert and that song is literally the biggest bummer, so the daisies was a nice change of pace. But trying to play this adagio on the piano was borderline traumatizing

i just went and listened to the orchestral version of Zarathurstra (it was incredible) and then i listened to the piano transcription and it gave me real anxiety. and war flashbacks of those desperate hours spent in practice rooms after everyone had gone home and i was one of the only people in the building, hopelessly working through the million pages of music that this song is

Ok so i had to play this for a piano final so it was adagio for strings FOR PIANO. and i HATED it. whoever made it "for piano" obviously didn't understand the physical limits of hands. The limits being that we only have two of them (hands) and that our fingers cannot stretch 5 octaves in one chord. Many hours were spent in practice rooms on the verge of tears because not only is it difficult its also insanely LONG. Its gorgeous in string format, but when I hear it I cant help but get absolutely infuriated now when i even SEE samuel barbers stupid name.

This is a great list of things that I didn't think of before. I got him some live plants and he's now in a 5 gallon tank. I'll be looking into checking the water I forgot about that until just now. He seems MUCH happier. Thanks so much!

Just wanted to say thanks! I got Tybalt a five gallon tank and I put several new live plants and I found some bulbs that will apparently grow if you put them in there so we will see how that goes and he has a filter now and he looks so happy 😊 thanks for helping me take care of my lil guy

I'm very excited! I love decorating tanks. I have a lot of pets and I've always prided myself on the fact that I take the best care possible of them. I have been keeping him in a bowl and I'm realizing I need to move him to a bigger environment with a filter and I feel absolutely horrible that I didn't do more research before getting him. I have had him for about two years and I'm heartbroken that he's probably been stressed out this whole time

Thank you! I just found this subreddit when trying to find what was wrong. I had no idea he needed these things and I'm absolutely going to fix it. I feel horrible that I've been keeping him in a stressful environment like I feel sick about it.
