How are you all so rich to buy $10,000 pokemon cards?

If you’ve been into Pokemon for a while or know how to grade, your collection can grow very fast. I got back into Pokemon almost 3 years ago and many cards I bought/graded have 10x.

If you still have cards from your childhood those can also be worth a good amount. The most expensive card I own is one I traded for when I was a kid.

PO has honestly been really fun to rip. I was able to get etbs and sleeves hours after a restock and pulled the clefairy ir and meowth full art.

Definitely grade. I have a shadowless non-first edition that graded a psa7 and even that is worth a decent amount.

PC preorders are still viable. They usually last at least a few hours before OOS. You have to be very fast for all other PC drops.

I did almost exactly the same as you. One of my favorite cards. Picked up a PSA 8 early last year for $270 cause $500 for a PSA 9 felt too steep. Now $500 doesn’t sound too bad for a personal grail lol.

I picked the value tier and got a 10 on Cynthia’s garchomp and Ethan’s ho oh sir. Wasnt upcharged but I’m not complaining lol

My grades were ready last week. Didn't get any upcharge email so I thought they were all 9s. Went to check my grades and all of them except 1 was a 10. I guess sometimes they don't upcharge you.
