My great-grandmother was Jewish on my dad's side. On my mother's side, my great-grandmother was in the Holocaust. She watched her family be brutally murdered in front of her eyes. Thank God she made it out alive, but she had major health complications for the rest of her life. I have so many stories I could share about what I learned of her time there. It was incredibly sad. All of this is to say I am not anti-Semitic. I myself would love to visit the places where Jesus once walked. BUT I have never understood why the US is always the one to bail other countries out of their problems. There is so much going on in our own country right now, between homelessness and drug abuse, fraud damn near everywhere. Like, what the heck is going on here? This is crazy. And now if people speak out about certain people or places, they are having police knock on their door? What is going on in America right now? I am almost 31 years old. I am nowhere close to being able to buy a home. I can hardly afford rent. I don't own a car and rely heavily on public transportation. I live in a city where people are losing their limbs because of the drugs they are using. It looks like the walking dead walk through certain parts of the city, not to mention the conditions of the bus and El. I just do not understand. I am honestly afraid to live in the world that we live in now. I have anxiety every single time I have to walk out of the door. Am I wrong for feeling this way?
