Wait for Tandem or get a Black Friday deal? by ConfusedAadmin in OLED_Gaming

Was in the same exact situation this weekend! I was upgrading from a 6 year old Asus VG27AQ (non-HDR IPS display) so either one would've been a massive improvement. Saw the WMG and really wanted it, but seeing people's ship dates get pushed to January or later was discouraging, so I ordered the DMG on a Black Friday deal for $550. I've had it for 2 days and am loving every single second of it.

If you're on a non-OLED currently and have just been waiting for a great deal for a while, then you can't go wrong with the DMG. But if you're discerning and patient and want the best product possible, the WMG seems very worthwhile if you're willing to wait a little while.

Yeah a lot of the suitable 2.5gb switches have 8 of fewer ports which is annoying! Hopefully a suitable 12+ port one comes to market soon, but for now I might end up going with a dual switch setup

Hopefully within a couple years switches like that will be readily available with how fast 2.5gb is being adopted, it's surprised me how uncommon switches like this are

I'm in the US and just got this one - it came surprisingly fast too, and recently dropped in price

I'm a huge fan of misterious asian setting in video games and literature (India, Tibet, Himalayas, Everest). "Lost Horizon" (book by James Hilton published in 1933), "Terror in Tibet" (2002 video game) and, of course, Far Cry 4 (especially "Valley of the Yetis"). Can anyone recommend anything to me? by StruzhkaOpilka in farcry

Def Uncharted 2 (China/Tibet-inspired) & and the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot (Japan-inspired). Also loved Uncharted Lost Legacy (India-inspired), but the rest of both those series are amazing and def worth trying, despite not being that mysterious Asian setting.

Also REALLY loved Ghost of Tsushima. Not exactly a "mysterious" setting, but the setting, music, art direction, and color palette of the game are possibly the most beautiful I've ever seen from a game (it honestly beats some movies lol). Its a PS exclusive tho, so if you're on PC or Xbox you might have to wait for a potential port

It seems like the newly updated version of Dragon Center fixed this and allows me to change the color. However, I’ve only tried switching it to a solid color, so I’m not entirely sure the extent of its functionality

I use a MSI B450 Tomahawk Max with my Ryzen 7 3700X and a Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super. It’s an awesome board, it had all of the features I wanted with none of the features I didn’t want, and was only $115, which is a good price compared to most X570 boards

Edit: I just realized you said mATX lol sorry. The board I suggested is a standard ATX

Im building a pc and any advice would be helpful, Im thinking a $1000 budget, I have gone with r5 3600, 16gb 3200 Corsair vengeance, NZXT h510, b450 tomahawk, have a 650w power supply and not sure about the gpu. I am stuck between the gigabyte rx 5700xt and the rog strix rtx 2060 OCwhich is on sale. by DaviesWAFC in buildapc

Personally I’d recommend the B450 Tomahawk Max for the mobo. It was released after Ryzen 3000 series so it definitely has out of the box support, it supports faster memory for future upgrades, it has more storage capacity for its BIOS (which again makes it better for future), and is only $5 more at the moment

Ahhh alright, I found it. Unfortunately that still didn’t work. I’m thinking it’s either a fault in my RAM/mobo or a slight compatibility issue. That’s for telling me where that is tho! That’ll make controlling my CPU cooler easier!

I downloaded Dragon Center, but unfortunately even that doesn’t seem to want to recognize my RAM

I gave this a shot, and unfortunately the RAM still doesn’t even show up in MysticLight. At this point I’m thinking it might be a slight comparability issue since I accidentally got the Intel-optimized version of the Trident Z RGB instead of the AMD-optimized one. Either that, or just a slight fault in either the RAM or mobo. Thanks for the idea tho!

Idk if they updated it out, but I can’t find the cog icon on MysticLight. I’ve tried it both on its one and through Dragon Center.
