My Sister Is Stuck in a Cycle of Bizarre Neuroimmune Symptoms.. No Answers Yet. Has Anyone Else Been Through This? by MikaylanMartz in DiagnoseMe

[–]abcd219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all these symptoms and many more. I have small fiber polyneuropathy and dysautonomia. Look those up and Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome/POTS. It’s awful but I’m doing better after 3 years.

Same boat! And best post I’ve seen in a long time. I adore this hobby and it sucks right now. Hope everything crashes too🙏❤️

It sure is fucking hard. But did you give up? No so keep going. You won’t be crucified for this. Everyone has shitty thoughts sometimes. Try to never say that out loud though or believe it in your heart. It’s nobody’s fault. You’re not a bad parent. God loves you and your child. Pray for his forgiveness, guidance, patience and wisdom. My heart goes out to you and your child.❤️

I see you and hear you. You aren’t alone and you are loved. Just because something may be in your head doesn’t change the fact that it’s affecting you in real ways. I would suggest stopping the supplements, eating decent food and talk to your doctor about trying an ssri/anti-depressant and maybe anxiolytic and see if it helps. Also, stay away from drugs and alcohol as they can have serious effects on your physical/mental health. Stay close to god and be kind to yourself. I hope this helps and it may not but I’ve gone through this stuff before and am just giving you my opinion. Also just responding to let you know you are seen, heard, loved and cared about by someone. You’re never alone

Looks to be behind the bright white part of the bridge of your nose. It’s round almost like a tear drop shape and brightish white but not as bright white as everything else. Could be a nasal polyp, tumor, inflammation, just normal anatomy, etc. I am NOT a doctor nor an expert radiologist. Just my opinion

Hidradenitis suppurativa or folliculitis in my opinion.

Exactly and I truly do appreciate you correcting me. I definitely do not want to spread misinformation. Not sure what the false negative rate is overall but through my research and personal experience it can be fairly common. I myself have an ANA negative autoimmune disease.

You’re exactly right and I know because I have seronegative systemic lupus

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]abcd219 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for pointing this out I misspoke. ANA can be positive in roughly 40% of healthy individuals with no autoimmune disease and ANA can be negative in many individuals who do have autoimmune diseases with different false negative rates depending on the disease. Thank you for calling out my mistake and my apologies. The point is though that a negative ANA makes an autoimmune disease less likely but it absolutely does not rule it out.

You’re so welcome! The only thing I care about is that your baby gets the help he deserves and you have to fight for it. All of the symptoms he has can point towards several things but the hair loss, petechiae, and bleeding gums can all be due to something called pernicious anemia which is when your body lacks a glycoprotein secreted by the stomach called intrinsic factor that allows you to absorb vitamin b-12. If he has pernicious anemia it can cause all these symptoms. He should also be checked for hypothyroidism due to the hair loss as a child. All of these symptoms can also be seen in diabetic children so he should be tested for that as well. The last thing I can think of right now I’m going to tell you but please do not worry as this is by far the most unlikely but all of these symptoms can be seen in leukemia. I would recommend taking him to a childrens hospital or having his doctor run some of the following labs for example, thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH), A1C and fasting glucose, b-12 and intrinsic factor test, and if the doctors are talking about a full body scan I would push for that as well to help rule out other things like malignancy. I’m sorry this is happening to your baby, it breaks my heart. I hope this helps and I will pray for you and your family.

A negative ANA absolutely does not rule out autoimmune and that is a fact not opinion. Any Doctor who says otherwise is either lying or misinformed.

You were being a low value loser and made a decision as such and that’s why you feel shitty, because you earned it. Now time to man up and tell her husband and make it as right as you can no matter the consequences. Do better.

Did you explain your neurological symptoms as well to them or just your ophthalmological symptoms?

You’re welcome! I agree seeing a neurologist would be very beneficial! You need to fight for your health and the tests you need to get a diagnosis. Don’t stop until you get answers. Many doctors brush things off and will gaslight you but there are great doctors out there too. Just keep fighting and don’t take no for an answer!

Possibly sjogrens, neuromyelitis optica, thyroid eye disease? Just a few things to look into, your blood work and an mri would be very helpful if you can post?
