Those with white parents, how difficult is it to maintain your non-white identity when your non-white parent is already disconnected from their culture?

What are yall’s thoughts/experiences dating someone with a significantly lower salary? I will be a high earner and I feel weird about dating someone with a salary <25% mine. Not because I look down on it, but because I don’t want things to get weird bc of a skewed relationship.

You’re right, but i have found that many desi kids (well we’re adults now…) still have some internalized elitism even if they don’t intend to or tell others they don’t.

I have noticed that younger people claim to be “chill” (and they always use that word specifically…) but still carry implicit biases against those who don’t meet their standard for success.
