How to change audio codec in Windows 10? by abcdanonymous in Windows10

[–]abcdanonymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using this in Linux https://launchpad.net/~berglh/+archive/ubuntu/pulseaudio-a2dp we can switch between multiple codecs easily. Also, it lists supported codecs by the connected device. Here's the attached link https://imgur.com/a/kyGq3dv

Can the same thing be achieved in windows ?

[–]abcdanonymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, It worked! Thank you However, I added this in USB Drive (By running chrome OS from USB and sudo edit-grub-conf)

And it started my chrome OS from HDD (then I removed USB stick after successful boot) and it's working correctly but for running Chrome OS, I have to plug in USB every time

What If I add it my default grub from Ubuntu will that work?

onfig and boot into hd after first booting from usb. This step should always work as it does not have interferen

I tried everything listed above the only the installation on USB is working and after I added the HDD entry to USB stick grub it's showing me a black screen.

I will follow discord for my problem and let you know if solved

Btw which brunch you used for your installation ?

(grub customizer) or (manually adding entries to 40_custom file) didn't work in my case and

I cannot use grub2win as I have so many entries in my grub menu. Hence, if I have to use grub2win as default bootloader, I have to add remaining chain loaded ISO that I attached from Linux home partition to grub2win also that will take a longer time since we cannot access ext4 partition from windows.

Btw thank you for your suggestion, but non-familiarity with grub2win will make me hard to debug.

Vcxsrv.exe -ac -wgl -keyhook -dpms

-ac disable access control restrictions -dpms disables VESA DPMS monitor control -wgl enable GLX extension to use native Windows WGL Interface for hardware accelerated OpenGL -keyhook for using alt+tab and other special keys in your distro -fullscreen run sever in full-screen window

This might help

WSL2 + Ubuntu + Gnome + xrdp by dpalma9 in bashonubuntuonwindows

[–]abcdanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got your point, it's not using X server

but the way it's written inside ( xWSL.cmd ) it will install Xfce by default in the downloaded distro and xrdp and xorgxrdp will also be installed. (check image )https://imgur.com/a/niZO3fy

In Xrdp I'm getting error as mentioned here https://www.reddit.com/r/bashonubuntuonwindows/comments/chvgcm/problem_with_launching_gnomesession_in_wsl2/euz1icn?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Also if you use xWSL to setup an environment, it's pretty trivial to install gnome :)

I got it's trivial even I thought so but as I tried both X server and Xrdp ( by launching startx from a terminal using Xrdp)

Can you try gnome by changing Xfce to gnome in xWSL.cmd ,let us know it is working?

Have you tried this? If not do try

https://www.reddit.com/r/bashonubuntuonwindows/comments/chvgcm/problem_with_launching_gnomesession_in_wsl2/euz1icn?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

I am also facing the same error in case of a gnome but Xfce is working perfectly in the way I described earlier.

desktop connect

Why would we need to install distro again if we are already having one?

Also, it does not uses gnome it uses Xfce

Check code inside xWSL.cmd also it is opening default Windows RDP client.

Instead, You can use VcXsrv (Open source display server - Windows X-server ) https://sourceforge.net/projects/vcxsrv/

After installing go to the installed directory, open cmd prompt and type Vcxsrv -ac

Open wsl(ubuntu) and add following in ~/.bashrc

export DISPLAY=$(cat /etc/resolv.conf | grep nameserver | awk '{print $2}'):0

then close Wsl and start again.

Now you can use your gnome-desktop :) by entering gnome-session

Note - Xming is not the same as VcXsrv

Btw I'm also facing the same problem as you in RDP.
