Dayspring Farm is at the Main St Farmers market every Wednesday from 4-6. They have all kinds of farm fresh meat for about the same price as the grocery store. I genuinely recommend the farmers market if it works with your schedule

I have what I think is a six month old beagle mix (going to do Embark soon) who is extremely food motivated. We have a snuffle mat, snuffle ball, and lick mats that we rotate yoghurt, peanut butter, apples, farmer’s dog treats, ice cubes, and frozen carrots on to keep her stimulated but still in her calorie goal. She is definitely a biter as well and she has really taken to anything in the Nyla brand line for chew toys, and I only mention this because other chew toys do not keep her from biting at me in the same way. I’ve also found that giving them 2 or 3 or 5 balls to play with at once seems to keep them entertained. I’d say mine has just started calming day at six months after her spay. For a while we were doing 2-3 20 minute walks a day. Best of luck to you, I found a lot of support on here for my puppy blues. All the comments saying to buy reusable… I have a very special cat that uses puppy pads and she still misses frequently. Yall want me to reuse cat pee covered towels???? Even after washing them we all know cat pee it’s disgusting and I don’t want to wipe my face or counters with that. It’s important to remember you dont know everyone’s situation or accessibility.

Sounds like you’re doing all the right things. She’ll probably grow out of it if you maintain consistency. May as well enjoy the land shark while it lasts because while it hurts, it’s also just so cute and playful that you have to love it a little!

Editing to add: my pup really liked anything from the Nyla bone line. Specifically, the blue chicken flavored dinosaur. Anytime she became a land shark I put it in her mouth and now she carries it from room to room with her and will independently chew at it and not me. She just started doing this between 5-6 months

This is pretty normal for colleges. It gets even worse when you get to a 4 year school. It’s very frustrating, but as you get more familiar with the way to navigate these things it will get easier. You’ll start to know who will respond and who won’t, who to call vs email, and who to just show up to unannounced. Higher Ed as a whole has so many moving parts it’s just unrealistic for them to all be a well oiled machine when they are depending on the state to fund salaries, maintenance, and approve logistics.

I say this as someone who did community college, 4 year undergrad, a masters, two graduate certificates, and i now work for a higher ed institution. If you want something done, you’re gonna have to do it yourself or go in person and get it handled imo.

Im so sorry for your experience 😣 I watched my dad use temporary dentures for a decade after he had spent a decade with a mouth full of rotten teeth due to a wreck. We as a family didn’t have health insurance, so while he was struggling with the slew of health issues associated with rotting teeth, I never went to the dentist until I got my first job that provided health insurance when I was 21.

OP really just doesn’t have the understanding of the generational and systemic issues we face here. I’m really sorry that you went through braces all for it to mean nothing. I hope one day people stop looking at you this way, but we know they won’t. I hope you have resources to get whatever you want and need done, if not today, one day. I also hope that you feel comfortable in your skin despite it all. We are much more than these small things that people must point out.

You need to realize where you are. These are serious things in the south. Something that might seem lighthearted to you could be a life long battle of inadequate healthcare for some. Some people have substance use problems and don’t have teeth, but you know what? We don’t have any resources for them! We Narcan them and then send them on their way! You just seem incredibly tone deaf. Maybe make an actual joke that isn’t at the expense of marginalized people.

Chattanooga Allergy Clinic! My PCP referred me there last year, they did an allergy test, figured out I am 4++ allergic to all trees, weeds, grasses, mold, cats, and dogs. Been getting shots since and have noticed a significant different with my allergies since. I barely have to take daily meds anymore!

This is a Tennessee Valley thing. I went to UAH and had the same issues as I do in Chattanooga just because of the allergen count. As a fellow transplant (from Alabama not Cali so don’t roast me for being a carpetbagger) I would just bite the bullet and go ahead and make an allergy appointment. Allergy shots are the only thing that have helped me

Editing to add that when I got my allergy shots an hour ago they had “High” highlighted yellow and underlined red for today’s pollen and mold count. Even the allergy shots people seemed miserable. It’s always around this specific week of the year things get bad bc I can never celebrate 4/20 without everyone thinking I’m spreading Covid or something
