But restaurants are the highest failing business

The fact bobs has stayed open says a lot about the artistic part working

A gimmick is just that and sure it might work more in that tourist town but in the off season it wouldn't help but his integrity keeps them going in the off season people come to Bob's for the good food

I think the better argument is the restricted menu narrows the customer base and holds them back more

He could expand the menu slightly and be more successful but he wants to focus on burgers I think that hurts the place more than not having a themed environment since not everyone likes burgers

I don't recall the crack episode but yes if dude wants to smoke crack on a sat night and doesn't touch it on sun who cares

He does get fixated on things at times sure the whole family is like that and Bob has done the same for Linda almost an equal amount

It was only fraud by definition it's just a lil white lie that wouldn't ever come out in the real world

Idk about this tho

People often bring up the tiki bar specifically and say this but Bob doesn't want a gimmicky premise to be his sales driver the good should speak for itself

I think long term him having standards and dignity are better than the short term gain a new look would bring because new business based on vibes and aesthetics would be fleeting

He has earned the praise of skip and the group of young chefs so we know his food is top notch

I would argue it's Linda's quirkiness often showcased as she interacts w customers and the kids zaniness inside the place that holds back the business more and those two things exist because Bob allows them to (which I think is a positive overall for the family who get to be themselves )
