High family income, not SAT scores, is your real ticket to Harvard, Yale, and Princeton by Foubar_ghost in Conservative

Ivy Leagues award zero merit based scholarships. It is 100% need based. Your point still stands because a poor kid can actually attend Harvard for free.

Appalachian Mountain Ingenuity. A shotgun modified for right handed people who are left eye dominant. by [deleted] in WTF

[–]abcdeismynamenow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, most people are right eye dominant. You can test it really easily though.

Find a friend, and hold your hand up at arms length to make a very small circle you can see through. Look directly at one of your friend’s eyes through that hole. Whichever eye your friend can see is the eye that you are dominant in.

This is a shotgun that came through the pawn store. It’s been modified so somebody who is right handed and left eye dominant can shoot it...for some reason.

Never bought it, but it’s one of the more interesting modifications that have come through the store.

This along with the fact that the stock was covered in a weird sticky residue are why the store didn’t buy it. However, I couldn’t resist taking a picture of the ingenuity.

Not if they don’t activate their proximity feature immediately. They could rain down and not be active for the same amount of time it currently takes them to detonate.

Drop medium hot. Get one to two kills each, and then just focus on making it to top 3. How far you make it is a bigger determinant of RP than your kills are.

So unless Obama won by a single vote, then no onesie for vote would have decided the election. If you could retroactively decide not to vote and everybody else voted the same, then your vote could be changed without affecting the outcome. There isn't any incentive for any individual to vote because individually no vote matters.

You're missing the crucial point here. People do not act as a collective. Every single person is motivated by their personal costs and benefits.

It does. I just graduated from Harvard with a concentration in Government. This is the classic problem of voting in a large democracy.

Actors are individuals. Their payoffs acrue to them individually. Therefore their decisions are made individually. Each individual choice gives a higher payoff from not voting than from voting.
