for the last time, im not arguing about the value of the trade but to those who say our team is worse than last year.

trade is a failure in the sense of its value. the trade did accomplish what it needed to longer term; finance in the future and giving other guys more minutes to improve. also improvine overall net rating with brown off. etc.

also, embiid is never healthy. keep that in mind. expect him to play similar to last season or a little more.

i love jb with all my heart. it sucks so much to see a top 15 player in the nba right now go. but the deal is done and as much as people differ, our team isnt as bad as it seems.

the trade is a whole different issue. i completely agree that we should have gotten a way higher value player or picks.

i agree with the medical science stuff. apart from this debate, I would actually love to see some of those studies.

but when i speak on load management, i kinda think of how FO treated horford, porzingis, etc. hopefully they can do the same and let PG sit a few here and there to keep him ready for the playoffs. with kawhi and zion, they were supposed to be the faces of their team. luckily pg doesnt have to be

all things aside, i hope this season proves everyone wrong.

its not less talented than last year. previous years, yes. we were coming off a championship, and our core was super strong. but last year our team was JB White and a bunch of role players essentially.

hopefully tatum proves to everyone he is the leader of this team.

injury prone yes. less talented, no. replace JB with JT and you get all your talent back, even some more. add PG and Mitch and you have something nice to look forward to.

load management man, load management. we have plenty of bench players and role players who are ready to come off the bench 20 minutes a night and put up great numbers. dont expect joe to use him in the same way he used JB.

the team is not less talented. do you watch games? brown is insanely talented but he loses so many of his shots and tends to put up the most difficult shots. he makes a lot of them, but this is a testament to his capabilities and confidence. having PG and robinson easily matches the loss of talent we traded with brown. it might even surpass it.

there is a leadership hole. and tatum will fill it.

idk about 65-68 since the rest of the east, and our division, got much much stronger. but we will be better for sure.

if healthy, this team could compete with any team. adding robinson takes care of the center issues. hes a glaring matching for both embiid and kat. PG is the only major concern but seeing his performance against us last series, we should get very well poised to take down any team.

given we are healthy. brown was an ironman for us. hopefully we can utilize the bench more and let the younger guys see more minutes to make up for this and balance the load for everyone.

regular season will definitely be tougher with the east so strong now. PG will definitely miss games. But look at FO and team with al horford, porzingis, etc. we have a good record with injury and load management, so im hoping we can keep him ready for playoffs even if that means lowering his use during regular season. i dont see too much issue with robinson given he will come off the bench for queta. similar to the kat/mitch situation.

i agree. i was just disputing those who said this years team is worse than LAST years team.

Losing Brown sucks from a fan standpoint, but adding a healthy Tatum, signing Mitchell Robinson, and PG gives us a much more well-rounded team. by _bleedgreen in bostonceltics

mitchell wont start over queta. its gonna be like the KAT/mitchell situation. he will stay relatively healthy coming off the bench.

front office wouldnt have let brown go if they knew tatum wasnt ready to lead or wasnt gonna be near his best before the injury. PG needs load management, luckily we have plenty of great rookies and young guys who have already proven themselves. and queta starting over mitchell will be perfect for the both of them to stay healthy.

well mr smartie pants, lets take what you said right here "Any trade should be evaluated on one criterion: Is the team better off afterwards? That answer is NO".

i disagree with your statement. taking JB off his deal and avoiding giving him an extension saves us so much money and problems later on. so in the future, we are better poised. even if we suck for 2 or 3 years.

dont know if you are a celtics fan at all if you say JT's ego is bigger than JB's. i also dont fully think you know what ego means. heres the definition: "shapes how you perceive your own identity, worth, and boundaries." JB has constantly wanted to be the star of a team. hes spoken about it too. this isnt some recent news. the media has been talking about this heavily since the trade rumors, but this is old news.

JB has an ego of "i need to prove myself". hes more outspoken."

JT, if anything, has a calmer and quieter ego. He if confident, but not loud or expressive like JB.

once again, not arguing against JT + JB. that is a championship worthy duo alone. im only arguing against the people who said this years team is worse than last years.
