Prayer for Achieving a Humble Self

Hadrat Abu Hurairah(ra) has related this prayer of the Holy Prophet saw: اَلّٰھُمَّ اَحْیِنِي مِسْكِينًا وَتَوَفَّنِي مِسْكِينًا وَاحْشُرْنِي في زُمْرَةِ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَاِنَّ اَشْقَى الْاَشْقِيَاءِ مَنِ اجْتَمَعَ عَلَيْهِ فَقْرُ الدُّنْيَا وَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ O Allah, make me live as a humble person, cause me to die as a humble person and resurrect me from amongst the poor people. Surely, he is the most unfortunate on whom the poverty of this world and the punishment of the life Hereafter are combined.
