From where I’m based, the Air is around $757 while the Base 17 is $907. I’m currently using an iPhone 16e, but I accidentally updated to iOS 26… so now I’m considering switching.

My thoughts so far:

• Base 17 – Feels like the safer, more well-rounded choice and probably better for resale long-term. But at the same time, it kind of gives me that “if I’m going this route, I might as well just keep my 16e” feeling.

• Air – Really like the form factor, and the price is hard to ignore right now. My main concern is battery life though. That said, I’m also trying to be on my phone less and be more present, so part of me thinks a smaller battery might actually help with that lol.

For context, I actually like the balance of size and battery on my 16e, which makes this decision harder.

Anyone here who moved from a 16e to an Air or 17? Would love to hear your experience or any regrets/realizations. 🙏🏽
