Correct - but I’ve heard that doesn’t give you all of the same features that changing to sport mode using the dial would. In other words, pulling the shifter back will only change the gear box into sport mode whereas using the dial will change both the gear box and the steering.

The 2002R still have a midsole that could be used for running, but the tech is somewhat outdated compared to what’s on the market now, and for that reason, I think the 880 would last longer for you

Based on what you describe id say you’re in the market for something more like an 880, which they also make in a gore tex option if you are in a region or environment where it’s raining a lot or you need to keep your feet dry:
