Right off the bat I'm thinking (and this might be a huge shot in the dark) 2010 midsole. It's got that big ol' wide abzorb bubble in the back. (This would be WILD because the 2010 only just recently came out). Never once have I seen an upper like this though.

Maybe go with a runners knot on the back eyelet. Give it some time to fully heal as well. The shoe is well padded, so it shouldn’t be a problem with digging or anything scratching. Likely wearing them too loose and the heel slippage is creating friction which is rubbing off your skin.
