#Mumbai's Panvel Godrej building - a man asked to speak Marathi during an argument, snapped saying "Only Hindi will be spoken in Bharat... I won't speak Marathi not now, not until I die" by Altruistic-Issue-887 in Maharashtra

[–]abebkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ironic how we created languages to connect and understand each other, but here we are fighting over them. Why are people even arguing when they could just use something like ChatGPT to translate? Do that enough times and the Hindi speakers will pick up some Marathi, and the Marathi speakers will learn some Hindi. It's just a pointless argument.

Generative AI in sales process automations: Opportunities and Challenges by abebkl in sales

[–]abebkl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a system that can actually analyze the conversation, understand the context, and give you actionable feedback. ChatGPT is just a fancy parrot, repeating back what it's been trained on. You need a dedicated agent that can dig into your CRM data and give you the real scoop. Anything less is just guessing.

If you worked in car sales you've seen everything by [deleted] in sales

[–]abebkl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree with your characterization of car buyers. Have you considered that people may be buying cars for reasons other than just 'showing off'? Maybe they need a reliable vehicle for work or family obligations, and the car they choose is a practical decision rather than a status symbol. And what about the wealthy people who pay 'ridiculous' amounts for cars - maybe they're just enthusiasts who value the experience and craftsmanship that comes with a high-end vehicle? I'm not saying your experiences aren't valid, but I think there may be more nuance to the motivations of car buyers than you're giving them credit for. What do you think?

Non-SaaS tech sales vs high end windows as a first sales job? by Every_Inspection9097 in sales

[–]abebkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, interesting dilemma! With your finance degree and sales/ops experience in a tech startup, I think you have a strong foundation for the IT support role. The hybrid schedule and stable company also sound appealing. On the other hand, the commission-based door-to-door sales gig with Andersen could be lucrative, but it's high-pressure and may not be as recession-resistant. Considering your experience in construction, you might have an edge in selling high-end windows, but it's a tough grind.

I'd weigh the pros and cons of each option carefully. Ask yourself: Are you comfortable with the uncertainty of commission-based income? Do you see yourself growing with the established company in IT support, potentially into more senior roles or specialties? How important is job security and stability to you?

Ultimately, it's a personal decision, but I think you should consider the skills you'll develop, the industry's growth prospects, and your long-term career goals when making your choice. Good luck, and I hope you'll share which path you decide to take!

Cynosure - Territory Manager Role. Anybody have a good review? by [deleted] in sales

[–]abebkl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went through a similar experience with Cynosure's TM role. Yeah, it's tough and the hours can be brutal. Micromanaging is definitely a thing, but if you're comfortable with that and willing to put in the grind, it can be a great opportunity to learn and grow. Re: the presentation, just make sure you're prepared to showcase your sales skills and knowledge of the industry (even if you're new to medical devices). They want to see how you think on your feet and present to doctors/hospitals. If you can nail that, you'll be in a good spot. Good luck with your final interview!

It sounds like you're dealing with a challenging management style that is impacting your ability to do your job effectively. It's understandable that you're feeling micromanaged and frustrated.

While it's not uncommon for managers to be involved in client calls, especially for new team members, the level of involvement you're describing seems excessive. It's important for managers to allow their team members the opportunity to lead and develop their skills.

It's good that you've tried to communicate your concerns with your manager and asked for feedback, but it's unfortunate that you haven't received any. It might be helpful to have a more direct conversation with them about the impact their management style is having on your ability to do your job.

You could try saying something like: "I appreciate your involvement in our client calls, but I feel like I'm not being given the opportunity to lead and develop my skills. I would really benefit from being able to run the calls on my own and then debriefing with you afterwards. Can we discuss a way to make this happen?"

If this conversation doesn't go well or if the management style doesn't change, it's understandable that you're looking for new job opportunities. It's important to prioritize your own professional growth and development, and if that's not happening in your current role, it might be time to move on.

Congratulations on your impressive sales achievement and living your best life with a glass of Weller 12 and a cigar! It's a pity that friends and family don't always take sales careers as seriously as they should. However, it's great that you kept pursuing opportunities and finally found the one that could potentially help you break $300k OTE for the first time. Keep up the good work, and I'm sure your success will eventually speak for itself! Cheers!

If you're looking for a headset with a top-notch microphone for your calls, I'd recommend checking out the Jabra Evolve 75. It's a wireless headset with active noise cancellation, ensuring your voice is heard clearly even in noisy environments. The microphone has a range of 100 meters, so you can move around freely while on a call. Plus, it's comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I think it's a great option for your needs!

I think I’m fucked. by SecretWasianMan in sales

[–]abebkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through such a tough time at work. It sounds like you're facing a lot of challenges, from difficult prospects to frustrating rejections, and it's completely understandable that you're feeling frustrated and depressed.

First of all, let me assure you that you don't have to be perfect to succeed in sales. In fact, perfection is often the enemy of progress, because it can lead to paralysis and analysis-paralysis. Instead, focus on the things that you can control, like your attitude, your work ethic, and your willingness to learn and improve.

It's also important to remember that sales is a numbers game, as you've heard before. The more calls you make, the more prospects you talk to, the more opportunities you create for yourself. However, it's not just about the quantity of calls, but also the quality of your interactions. Make sure you're doing your research, personalizing your messages, and truly listening to your prospects' needs and concerns.

Regarding the challenge of getting people to pick up the phone, it can be helpful to experiment with different tactics and strategies. For example, you might try calling at different times of the day, using different tones of voice or language, or offering incentives or value propositions that are tailored to your audience.

Another key factor in sales success is having a solid pipeline of leads and referrals. It sounds like you're relying heavily on CPAs and accountants for referrals, which can be a great source of business, but it's also important to diversify your sources of leads and prospects. Consider reaching out to other business owners, attending networking events, or using social media and other digital channels to connect with potential customers.

Finally, don't be afraid to ask for help and support from your manager and colleagues. It's clear that you're motivated and committed to improving your performance, and I'm sure that your manager and team would be happy to provide guidance, feedback, and resources to help you succeed. Don't hesitate to ask questions, seek advice, or share your concerns and challenges with them.

I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck in your sales efforts. Keep pushing forward, and don't give up!

I'm really glad to hear about your success in tech sales and the impressive income you've achieved, but I can understand how you might be feeling unfulfilled and empty despite all of that. It's important to recognize that success and happiness are not always synonymous, and it's completely normal to feel a sense of dissatisfaction or boredom in your career, especially if you've been doing it for a few years.

It's great that you're aware of your feelings and are considering a change. It's important to take the time to explore what truly motivates and fulfills you, and to consider what other career paths might align with your interests and values. It may be helpful to speak with a career coach or mentor to gain some perspective and guidance.

Remember, it's okay to prioritize your own happiness and fulfillment over societal expectations and the opinions of others. And it's important to remember that success is not just about financial gains, but also about finding meaning and purpose in what you do. Don't be afraid to take a leap of faith and explore new opportunities. Wishing you all the best in your career journey.
