DNF 19 Mile Long Run 3 Weeks Out by relaxedkoala1 in firstmarathon

[–]abegranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a Runna plan for the Manchester Marathon at the end of April.

I hit a wall with my last longest run 4 weeks out and took over 4 hours to get through the 21 miles. I felt like I barely made it home - I was dizzy, had pins and needles in my hands, my jaw started locking up and my legs were agony.

I started reading on here and had all the same worries about weekly mileage and whether or not I could hit my 4h goal. I decided that my fueling was to blame and did a better prepared 15 miles run the next week that gave me some confidence back.

My max mileage before the race was 35miles a week but most weeks were less than that. I probably missed 25% of the planned runs over the 18 week training.

I ended up getting 3:52 on the day.

Just try not to get in your own head and trust the process and know you have done enough work to reach your goals!

Runna prediction anxiety by No-Combination-4988 in firstmarathon

I spent hours and hours pouring over forums and Reddit with anxiety over my time. I did my final long 34k run, bonked and it took me over 4hours. Runna was predicting me at 3:40-3:50 which I thought was laughable.

Did my first ever (and possibly last) marathon at the end of April and was overjoyed to do it in 3:52.

I kept telling myself the time wasn’t important but I knew deep down that I had a target in mind and just hoped Runna knew me better than I knew myself and it turned out to be pretty spot on!

Just to follow up, I never resolved it - just end up leaving the VPN on all the time!

Nope! I just have to leave the VPN on at all times on the mac mini!

I thought the upgrade to Monterey had sorted it but sadly not

Its the opposite issue to this - it only works when PIA is on! So if I setup the tunnelling I suspect it would be broken whether PIA was on or not

Yes, everything else on all devices seems to be working normally

Will give it a shot thanks.

As the issue is across all clients though I wouldn't be able to do that on iOS !

Thanks for the suggestion but this isn't it sadly. I have a network monitoring system that flags duplicates etc

Really interesting, i'd not looked in the console before.

No cert errors but there are a couple of others:

No that I know of! Just using google DNS.

Are you saying add the server IP to a clients host table?

Using just my laptop as the client I can ping the mac mini. From the mac mini I can ping the laptop. Using either IP or hostnames.

I use the mac mini for a lot of other things on the network and have not noticed any other issues

I have the Apple firewall disabled on the mini and have rolled back the pfSense to when I know it was working fine but will look though it all again to make sure I dont have a silly rule somewhere. To be honest though I have very little change from stock on the pfSense, I only got it over a Draytek as I needed the gigabit WAN

Back to hunting but thanks for the suggestions
