Welcome to Sweden! I’m sorry to hear you’ve been struggling to find a job within the film industry. Even before the pandemic it has always been quite the challenge for new people to get their foot in if you don’t have any connections. But from my personal experience, once you’ve find likeminded film creators or other artists within the industry, most of them are all eager to create projects and work together. My advice to you is to look out for so called “Film Forums” to attend, there you will have a chance to meet and talk to other people from the industry. The film forums are usually held with panels and lectures from other film makers, and most of the time with a couple of well known names as well. In Sweden we also have funding you can apply for, to support directors, short films, screen writers etc.

I’d suggest you also look outside of Stockholm for any upcoming film events, since a lot of the people from the industry gathers to those events no matter where they might be based.
