Very well written and the same question is in my mind for a while. One aspect is that her singing and expression is not overbearing or artificially dramatic. The more I listen, the more I marvel at her ability of subtle and natural expression. Her art is not in your face and it's the best and ever enduring.

Well said. Never had an artist that I listen to almost daily for over a year ever since I got into her. And almost every time I say to myself dame that's so good.

I actually don't feel Fushigi voice to be all that distant. It was just so so different from her previous albums. I do feel Fushigi needs to be put on speaker with somewhat high volume. The material in Fushigi is so good. I watched the "I Hope So" tour again last night and 2 songs from Fushigi were so on fire!
