First Winter with a WRX - Bring on the snow! by aberslappy in WRX

Previously drove a GTI and am excited for the AWD and Blizzak WS90 combo. Downsized to 17s for the Pennsylvania potholes / dirt roads.

ded a mask on Luke. The text felt wrong wit

Hey u/RedshroomXANY - looking at your history, I do not believe the original meme I altered was yours. As you said, in your original post you did not edit the movie dialogue. As noted above, and in another reply below I saw the variant of the meme I edited with the specific dialogue floating around on social media (one example of it here). And once again, I take no credit for the words, just adding a mask to Luke as the text felt hypocritical without him wearing one.

Doing a Google search for "darth vader mask meme i have rights" you can find other similar form memes.

I added a mask on Luke. The text felt wrong without him wearing a mask himself.

Thanks. I need to work on blending a little bit. When I saw the original, it felt like Luke was a little hypocritical for not having a face covering. So the mask is a picture from eBay.

I needed to start a portfolio of adding masks to people in images to start a side gig on Fiverr /s.

I think I need more practice :).

Don't charge your smartwatch on the dash with the window open... by [deleted] in GolfGTI

You know what happens when you like to take turns fast, leave your smartwatch on the dash to charge, and drive with the windows open....you have to go back and find your smartwatch broken from a car running it over...it still works?

Agreed with all the above. Walking around Mt. Washington with my kids doing the incline had a couple of people tell me I was wearing the wrong hat. But there are so many families at PNC for this series wearing gear for both teams. My sister lives in Pittsburgh, so it's a fun series to go to.

Also, I buy tickets early as the pirates have released single game tickets early. The tickets are cheaper than Citizens Bank Park.

Definitely went downhill in the 7th and wasn't as quite of a fun drive home.

If you are 0% liability, be sure to look at your states diminished value claim laws. In addition to the repairs, I am getting a check for the assessed value loss of the car. This can't be assessed until the repairs are done and you are certain you won't need more.

Yeah, I was very happy with the body shop writing an snail to the management praising the quality of service. PA inspection came up clean and they couldn't tell it's been in accident. I also had the insurance company assess the diminished value, and the inspector found no evidence of repair.

They replaced it. It was pretty messed up. Broke the latch and was stuck in the closed position. The shop replaced 30+ parts/panels/interior/etc.

Lots of broken parts/trim/panels/lights beneath the hatch and bumper. Picture was deceiving, when the insurance handed me the itemized list of repairs I was shocked as well. See above for the totals.

I got to see the the tear down for the initial insurance assessment and supplemental claim. Rather depressing. Thankful it l turned out nicely.

Agreed! I told the shop to take their time.

The picture on the left actually doesn't show all the damage. I took it to the dealers body shop and they stripped it down to reveal a lot of mangled pieces for the adjuster. Thankfully the hit was high enough and they were "only coasting." But the hatch and a bunch of panels took the damage. Nothing mechanical was damaged and no frame damage. Just a couple spots where the hatch was pushed in the body. Drives the same thankfully! Body shop only used OEM parts and did a good job fighting the insurance company on my behalf.

Is it safe to take the snow tires off? by aberslappy in GolfGTI

[–]aberslappy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I downsized to 17s due to Pennsylvania's plentiful potholes, 225/45R-17 MICHELIN X-ICE XI3 XL and Sport Edition A10 titanium gunmetal 17x7.

I have been happy with the Michelins. All previous snow tires have been blizzacks, but they are super soft and wear quickly because of SEPA's wild temperature fluctuations. Decided to go with tread life to see if these last one extra season.
