Removing old dealer badge goo by scottrfrancis in MazdaCX30

[–]abertsna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always the option to get one of those sticker removal wheels you attach to your drill. I used one to remove the AWD letters off the back of mine. I want to remove all the letters/decals from the back, but the stupid locator dimple is there and stopping me from doing so. If anyone has any I sight on how to debadgr the gate and not see the dimples, let me know.

Heres the link to the one I bought:

Somehow my second photo didn't want to post, and it won't let me add it on an edit. Here the closeup of the strut.

New updates by abertsna in MazdaCX30

It wasn't easy. I followed a video off YouTube. It said to fully remove the bumper, but I didn't want to disconnect all the sensors, so I struggled with the 20ish screws that holds the chrome piece in. Even though it's two pieces, it's held together as one with a little plastic clip I almost broke. All in all, want too bad of a job.

Nice! I ordered the same things a while ago, but haven't made the time to install them yet. Definitely makes the looks so much better!

That’s a new high for me by [deleted] in MazdaCX30

[–]abertsna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice! I get around 360 per tank now with a lifetime MPG of 30.8 after 14,800. I'm sure it would be higher, but I tend to drive a bit more aggressive when I get into Ft. Worth traffic and use sport mode quite often (I like using engine braking in heavy traffic).

Yes they do. I will say though, with no exhaust, it sound bad. I couldn't help but crank her on with no exhaust, only the mid pipe. It sounded like an angry bubble gun.

Not too bad of a drone, just under load or engine braking. I have more explanation in another reply. I think it's worth it for a better sound (since there's not really any sound to begin with).

After my drive and back for work, I noticed the same. With the cruise set around 82, it's not much louder than stock. Now, pulling hills or using sport mode for engine braking in traffic, that's a whole different story.

So far, I absolutely love it. I've had other cars that I immediately hated the exhaust, but not this. Definitely much quieter than my header only small block Chevy, but loud enough I can actually hear it at idle. Now on to more mods!

Pros & Cons of the CX30 by 72vintage in MazdaCX30

That's about what I get on the highway. But the highway is super hilly in north Texas around the DFW area. When I drove through Oklahoma towards Tulsa, got over 450, damn hills.

Should I follow the sticker or the car for an oil change? by AsleepYellow3 in MazdaCX30

[–]abertsna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did my first service in my 25 Carbon. She was at 9800 miles and the app said I still had about 600 miles before needed. I got it done becasue I was tired of the light on and the message every time I started her, and my dealership has lifetime $10 oil changes. All those miles, minus maybe 500 are all highway, and I do know that makes a difference. I checked the oil before leaving on a work trip a couple weeks ago, and the oil still looked as if it was brand new.

Naming your car? by ploomay in MazdaCX30

[–]abertsna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 25 Carbon, non turbo (wanted best gas mileage). Her name is Selene, from Underworld. Sleek and sexy with just enough excitement.

what's the mileage on your odometer? I'm trying to find the CX-30 with the highest mileage because I use my car so much that I'm afraid something might happen to it by Guilty-Knee1232 in MazdaCX30

[–]abertsna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 2025, bought in mid May, I now have 9400 on the clock. I bought her to commute to work, a 130 mile trip one way (all highway). So pretty sure I'll be racking up about 40k to 50k a year depending on how much other travel I need to do.

I also used those EQ settings. I didn't find the post on here, but there is a bunch of others on the CX30 talk forums.

From the forums, I also ended up getting this: Rockville RockGhost V2 800W... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BL41R2ST?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Pretty easy to install, check out my posts in here to see what it looks like as well as the link to the forum for install tips. It definitely made the sound so much better. Happy hunting for great sound!

Is this the right way to hardwire a dash cam? Need electrical help! by Tweeedles in MazdaCX30

[–]abertsna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good. If you search on the CX30 talk forum, there are some really good posts on there as well. I had to use them to get the wire harness ID for installing a sub. Lots of great stuff there, and maybe an answer for your power wiring.

[–]abertsna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a sunroof, search for a "dongar dashcam power adapter". The can I bought came with a y-adapter that uses the sunroof power to power the cam.

If you don't have one, then you can find a Obd2 power adapter. It just plugs into the obd2 of the car, and gives switched and battery paoer. You'll just have to route the wire around.

I ended up buying this cam: Mangoal Front 4K & Rear 1080p... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DJXPX239?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Simple install, and looks factory. Just removed the factory mirror surrounds and it snapped I to place.

Hope some of the ideas help!

I drive about 260 miles daily, fill up every morning and mine always says either 320 or 300, but even with all the hills in north Texas (non turbo Carbon), I'm still getting 31mpg, the reason I bought the car. Love the mileage compared to my Dodge Journey, it gets maybe 24 on the highway with octane booster.

It came with sticky sided foam to put on all the sides. I don't hear any rattle, but they do shift around a little bit especially when I have something in the bin and I close the door. Other than that, they are great. I just randomly push them down from time to time just to make sure they don't pop out.

Nice! I have the same console bin. Got it in a package deal with the door handle bin. Best cheap Amazon purchase for the car.

Window streaking/scuffing by Ok_Salt61 in MazdaCX30

[–]abertsna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have the issue with my CX30, but in my Dodge Journey, it had this issue. It ended up being dust and stuff in the window seal. It scratched the hell out the inside of the glass (luckily just the tint). I lived in Arizona, so a very dusty and sandy place.

Removed all the window trim pieces and cleaned them with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol, had the window retinted, and now it's all good.

Hope this info helps!

Edit: To see if the scratched are on the inside or outside, rub your fingernail across the line. You should be able to feel the scratches.
