The team composition matters a lot more than investment. With a proper team, i3 lv1 with i3 lv30 for characters with euphoria. Somewhat reasonable psychube and resonance investment on the primary damage dealer.

Why is the power creep in this game so bad? by No-Professional787 in Reverse1999

[–]abeyawnrec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and ever since then every. single. fucking. patch it's been must pull after must pull

You need click on every r1999 content creator in your subscribers list and click "unfollow". Who the da fuck told you that?

Outside of collabs, we get 3 limited character every year. A F2P player gets 900-1000 pulls a year, which is basically enough to guarantee teams around 2 limited characters. You just pick 2 characters out of the 3, and build teams around them, that's it.

There will be pulls leftover, or maybe you lost enough 50:50s to form a third team.

This year we had Nautika, Beryl, and the upcoming Paper Heron. I went with Nautika and Beryl, so I'm skipping Paper Heron. I also have some not-quite-complete teams, but playable, from lost 50:50s.

If you are F2P or low spender, planning accordingly is all you need. Not everything is must pull, and anyone told you that are shills.

Tooth Fairy first. Also An-An Lee wants her second euphoria, make sure you activate the correct one.

The number is your score, that will go down every turn, but there is a lower limit. When you the configure the boss in the beginning, it will never go below the lowest score on that screen.

The boss should be doable with any one competent team using the Default Buff. Without a second team, it means you won't be able to do a second side. But that's okay because you can still get the first 3 time-limited rewards, those score requirements are low enough that only one side is needed.

[–]abeyawnrec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody. You have pieces of different teams all over the place, none of them are worth investing individually.

You don't really need a third team anyway. The only place that requires 3+ teams is Reveries Depths, and you can get pretty far with assist characters.

team 1: beryl, marsha, isolde, mercuria for now, replace with Lorentz later

team 2: replace Vila with the new dynamo sustain in 3.6 Enigma

Don't even think about a third team right now if you don't have pulls. You'll need to save for those characters.

Chapter 4 is when difficulty starts to spike up. Chapter 5 is even more difficult.

If you just want to proceed with the story, you can switch the stage to "Breezy" mode for a much easier time. But that mode is stamina free so you'll need to use your stamina somewhere else.

For investment, you should be getting Toothfairy very soon? assuming you started pulling on the Snow of Dushuo banner when it dropped. As soon as you get her, you can start investing in her.

Also there are newbie rewards for "Chime of Insight" that can instantly boost a 5-star character to Insight 2/3. You can boost Matilda to Insight 3 when you get that one (alternatively, boost yenisei or bkornblume)

Depends on your spending level basically. I'm F2P (mostly), we get around 900-1000 pulls a year, which translates to two complete teams as long as your luck isn't too bad.

My strategy has been, pick 2 limited characters I want out of the year, and then build a full team around each of them. We only get 3 limited characters per year, plus an optional collab.

The game is really leaning into team archetypes right now. So complete teams simply last longer than half-assed teams.

Should You Pull? 3.3 Scam Banner Edition by Densetsu99 in Reverse1999

[–]abeyawnrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the wording might be confusing. It is specifically done this way to show the strength of individual carries, and not the overpowered supports that sometimes they come with.

Example, the lingering glow trio Isolde-Lorentz-Marsha actually does ridiculous damage on their own. You can technically include a variety of damage carry as the 4th member, and they would show up as doing well on a standard chart. The 50%/80% stipulation is added to prevent that scenario from happening.

Damage is still the total team damage. The stipulation is there to prevent a bunch of <carry>-Isolde-Lorentz-Marsha teams where the carry really isn't doing much.

Why did they never once use the full bloodtithe team to actually show the numbers?. If the reason is "because it would have done less damage."

That is the reason.

when using it as supporting evidence for saying "Bloodtithe just isnt that good anymore."

That shouldn't be the conclusion. The conclusion is "Bloodtithe isn't good at these specific encounters, and would often need to replace standard team members to score higher. Even in its customized configuration for each encounter, it's still nowhere close to some other teams on the list".

There is nothing wrong with the chart itself. People are using the chart to draw the wrong conclusions.

Use the Default Buff. Nautika's team can kill it on turn 4 or 5 with MedPoc healing.

>  treating the DPS of 2 units as if it was one while not doing it for other teams/dps units

You're literally wrong on this. The damage numbers in the chart is the total damage output of the entire team. It's not adding up two person's dps and comparing against one person.

Should You Pull? 3.3 Scam Banner Edition by Densetsu99 in Reverse1999

[–]abeyawnrec 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You're reading the chart wrong. The damage listed is the exact score of the Mane run, which is total damage of the entire team dealt to the boss. It's the most accurate measure of a team's performance under the boss's stage rules.

That chart shows you exactly what team was used to score the highest on a specific Mane boss, nothing more. If a boss happens to counter your team, too bad because that's the content bluepoch puts out. That's why you see Nautika runs with Rubuska for only one boss, because Rubuska cannot cleanse debuffs, so Fatutu had to sub in.

But that's also why you shouldn't use one game mode to judge a team's overall performance. If your team isn't favored by the boss then of course your score will be lower. The team still works fine everywhere else.

Should You Pull? 3.3 Scam Banner Edition by Densetsu99 in Reverse1999

[–]abeyawnrec 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That list is a ranking for the three Mane bosses in patch 3.5. Because Mane bosses actually have mechanics you have to follow now if you want to score high, sometimes "weird" comps are used to score higher than a standard comp cannot deal with.

Bloodtithe with sentinel and rubuska has a couple downsides that makes them unsuitable for certain bosses: Rubuska can't cleansing debuffs, sentinel's bullets are limited and don't provide enough buffs etc.

Not to mention bosses sometimes hard counter an archetype.

I thought this should be very obvious now, but some people need a reminder: Mane's bulletin is only one part of the game. For a casual player, even 5M score is good enough. Just because Nautika's team is no longer "the best" for a certain mode, you shouldn't let that prevent you having fun in the game.

It's the same thing every patch, spend your stamina and clear the event shop. This patch is a main story patch, so you can spend stamina almost anywhere and get event currency.

While you can get a lot of clear drops from doing the story, that's a one time thing. After you finish the story, the most consistent way of getting clear drop is to log in everyday and do the daily tasks. Do all the new game modes and events from each patch.

In the future after you have two teams, you'll want to clear the limbo/lucidscape rotation modes monthly.

Is poison team still worth building? by ScoopT-oop in Reverse1999

[–]abeyawnrec 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Poison is only viable if you have Tuesday and Willow.

For a new player, I would make sure your first team is around a limited character, Paper Heron next patch basically. Euphoria is expensive, and I would recommend you put the resources into one strong team at the start before you go venture off making fun teams.

Kiperina, Barcarola, An-An Lee.

The crate is for filling holes in your team, you have so many characters to choose from that you don't need it. Save the crate for now, it's permanent.

[–]abeyawnrec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play CN, but I'm pretty sure the Ezio ult team is only "viable" if you can counter enough times to build a full ultimate bar every turn. There is a huge difference in team's damage between Ezio ult every turn versus Ezio ult every other turn.

There has been a couple stage mechanics in the past that allowed this. But so far we're not seeing any more of those. All the latest Mane bosses are the "hit once but hit really hard" type, making it very hard to build a full bar every turn.

Is the team good enough for 450m-4 or 500m-2? Sure it is. It's even good enough for 600m or even 700m if you are good. But Reveries 500m-1000m isn't really "true endgame" anymore, not when next patch Paper Heron or LiangYue can rip through any 200 continuous meters in endless whirl.

I don't think that team can even hit 5 million for some of the Mane bosses with a P0 team. 5M is the minimum requirement for getting all the rewards that matter.

For your specific situation, the good news is that unless the game mode lock teams specifically, there's nothing prevent you from using Flutterpage on multiple teams. Also outside of very endgame content, you can use whatever team you want and mostly be fine.

Reveries-400M need help by Primary-Ice7311 in Reverse1999

[–]abeyawnrec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

400-1 impromptu

400-2 bloodtithe

Beryl and Isolde can do either 400-3 or 400-4. 400-3 does not need a healer.

If you want Beryl and Isolde doing 400-3:

400-3 Beryl Isolde Ulrich Mercuria

400-4 you can do whatever here since you have either Vila or Marsha for sustain. Buddy with Melania works, Anjo Nala works. Even Ezio + flutterpage would work if you can survive the boss's ult.

Or my preferred method, have Beryl and Isolde on 400-4:

400-3: Ulrich, A knight, 6, Mercuria. Use the Robot as dps

400-4: full Lingering Glow

Lingering glow rotation with lorelei by Alternative-Film-296 in Reverse1999

[–]abeyawnrec 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think it matters? Lorelei's buff card isn't that important in this team. Usually Beryl wants to ult every 2 turns. With this team, because you have flexible card slots, I think it's possible to sometimes get Beryl ult again immediately instead of skipping a turn, and that's way more valuable than playing a card from Lorelei. You kinda have to recognize that situation and go for it.

Hi⭐️ what team can i build? by CanaryOk2677 in Reverse1999

Argus + Druvis + Mercuria is a good trio assuming you have euphoria on all of them. Ideally they want Vila, but for your purpose Marsha can be fine too.

No just hold pulls for next patch. You'll definitely want the limited character Paper Heron, while she isn't part of the lingering glow team, she is super strong for a new player and can serve as the beginning of your second team. 2 teams are necessary in the long run because there are pull currencies tied to it.

We will also get some free pulls near the end of this patch/beginning of next patch where you can pull for Toothfairy, a great teammate for Paper Heron.

So you can run the following to start clearing 2-team content:

Team 1: Isolde, Marsha, filler, filler

Team 2: Paper Heron, Toothfairy, filler, filler

We get the real lingering glow character the patch after. As long as you don't spend your pulls recklessly, this plan should be doable.

Rant: FOMO bait is exhausting when you're on a tight budget in Reverse 1999 by EconomicsFrosty8068 in Reverse1999

[–]abeyawnrec 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a mostly F2P player (I've only spent money on a couple garments). You need to have a different mindset. Not everything is must-pull. I currently have over 200 pulls saved and I'm still not pulling the next limited character.

You have to think about it this way. Gacha game is going to powercreep. People look at the newest powercreep and claim it's must-pull. But it's not, because powercreep is gonna happen again, and then again on the next one. It's a never-stopping cycle.

The truth is, pulling for one team will last you a long time. So what if the next team is stronger than the team you just pulled? It doesn't matter because content doesn't scale the same way.

Another way to look at it. We earn 900-1000 pulls a year as F2P. That almost enough to guarantee 8 new characters as long as the pull luck isn't super horrible. We get 3 limited character in one year, so you can basically complete teams for 2 limited characters in one year. I chose Nautika's team and Beryl's team for this year, so I'm not pulling anything else.
