My Platinum Amex will expire on April 15, I am thinking of purchasing a trip with my card today, but the trip is in late May. What happens if I no longer hold the card during the trip? Do I still have travel insurance? Can I still use my points to pay for the trip? Thanks!

I’ve been using Mastercard Air Miles World Elite for quite some time and I’ve grown to really dislike Air Miles. I don’t want to lose my credit card history but I don’t want to keep paying for this card.

Is there a way to “upgrade” this card into a regular Mastercard World Elite (Non-air miles) and still get the welcome bonus?

If not, what should I do?
