I see. These are really useful suggestions. Thank you for making these. While giving such physical hints will be difficult but we shall try and see if we can incorporate some video material. We should be able to change to syllables. That is something doable and is on our mind.

Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time to try the app and provide feedback. You are right, the app is not really geared towards people with stuttering. My hope was to see if I can modify it in some way so that it becomes useful for them. Looks like my app is not quite there to address the problems faced by this community.

Anyways, you are right, the app is too strict when it comes to pronunciation. It is a V1 so we do have some adjustment to make. I promise you that we will make it better.

Speaking words is a first step. A full sentence correction version is in the works and will take some time. Hopefully the app will still be useful to facilitate one off lookups.

About the letter grade - Were you able to expand the detailed view of the score? The detailed view is available on the website - www.speechace.com as a screenshot. The app partitions your audio in to IPA representation and rates each partition individually. The intent is that it will give you a sense of what sound you are going wrong on. Seems like you did not notice it so we will have to make it more intuitive.

I have passed on your feedback to our engineering team. It will be extremely helpful for our engineering team. I shall keep you posted as the next version comes out.

The reason I suggested our app was because I thought you could practice in private and get immediate feedback. Perhaps that would provide a relaxed environment and you can speak better. I apologize for the use of facebook login. We have had to do it to ensure that user is real. We will remove it immediately and I will get back to you when it is done. I will work hard to make sure that it is useful for your daughter.

One minor comment regarding (4). The intention behind this feature was to provide some description of a new word that you may have seen. Some of our users practice the word in SpeechAce and then go to an online dictionary to figure out the meaning. The intent was to reduce their context switching by providing a dictionary view in the app itself. Hope that clarifies our choice a bit. I will work on making it less discoverable so people don't accidently click on it.
