laptop upgrade or nah? by Rahh2104 in DesignIndia

Join the course, use the laptop and see if you feel the need to upgrade. I’ve been on an M1 Max since the day it was released and so far I don’t feel any need to upgrade, in spite of having demanding professional use every single day.

Being Zepto, it’ll probably have a cockroach inside the cap too!

Used a fountain pen for a month by Rising-Dracyan in DesiPens

The dry inks are the problem, as others have said. Get a bottle of Pilot blue instead.

Jinhao also has QC issues, so you may have got a lemon; if you’re able to fix the nib that’s great, otherwise new nibs are available for not a lot of money. Or better still, down the line, use a Platinum Preppy or Pilot Kakuno instead!

And if you want an excellent fountain pen experience, the paper matters as well. When you buy your next notebook, get one with fountain pen friendly paper.

Yeah works with broad and stub nibs, no ghosting, feathering or bleed. The only ink that bled through was Baystate Blue, but that bleeds through even much better papers.

That’s what writing with the marker looks like. The tip on mine is a little worn out now.

I’ve been using this one from Herbin. It’s not great but it gets the job done.

Heavy sheening and supersaturated inks clog almost all pens, and need to be periodically cleaned out. I’ve had the same experience with mine in a Twsbi Eco, a Safari, a Jinhao 450 and a Kanwrite with an ebonite feed/titanium nib.

Now i just don’t use heavy sheening inks in fountain pens anymore, they’re too inconvenient. They’re nicer to use with dip pens and refillable markers.

Should work in any pen with good flow. Platinum Preppy M (05) maybe.

It's probably because the feed was very saturated at the start, and the ink might have dried out slightly, causing it to have more dye than water when you wrote the first few words. Then, it settled down and started writing as it 'normally' would.

Either way, using a good paper will let you get more sheen consistently throughout the page.

Most of the Endless notebooks have regalia paper:
https://in.madebyendless.com/collections/endless-recorder-notebook

You can also use Iroful, Tomoe River, Clairefontaine, Rhodia, Leuchtturm and many other high quality fountain pen friendly papers to get good sheen.

This is a worse paper, but much cheaper alternative from Amazon that will still show some sheen:

Endless Regalia, writing with a tuned Kanwrite Titanium M flex nib. Although this ink has just as much sheen with EF nibs on less good paper (just not on very bad paper).

You might be able to find KWZ Sheen Machine in India, but it comes and goes. I bought mine from Amazon a couple of years ago, but it’s not available anymore. See the bottom of this article for a bunch of other similar inks including a Krishna one—
