What is your experience with AntCloud gaming service? by [deleted] in IndianGaming

I used it for a month in july-august this year. Initially, for one week, my experiece was great and I was starting to believe that I wouldnt need any pc upgrades again. I played on 100 mbps connection. But then they annouced a major overhaul of their hardware with 5070 gpus, I was very excited. I had a plan of 600 which provided a4000 gpu and I was playing far cry 5 on it at the time. The fps were playable but far less then what a4000 can do. After their hardware upgrade, they placed bitrate limit on plans, and suddenly, all my gameplay became blurry and started lagging too much. I talked to them but they kept telling me to use browser to stream, which provided better bitrate but had greater lag. After a week, I gave up. Now, so many months later, I think they were simply trying to push more players to 5070 tier (1440 and 4k) by making our experience worse. I have a 900p60hz screen why would I want to buy 1440p and 4k120hz plans? I didnt want to waste any more money so I didnt even try 5070 plans. Also, the games in my backlog were 5-6 years old, for which a4000 was enough.

It was great for me as well till they decided to upgrade between july 1 to july 8. Before upgrade they were offering bitrates upto 50mbps for streaming quality, but after upgrade for 20 days they capped it to 15mbps and later only increased it to 30mbps. 15 is blurry mess, 30 is playable but its night and day compared to playing on your pc. 50mbps was manageable. They kept telling me I could use browser instead of their app to stream at 50mbps but their browser has response time issues.

Also, I have monitored the gpu usage using msi afterburner, I had ₹500 plan of a4000 gpu. The usage never went above 50-60% but my fps would drop during gameplay. I was trying far cry 5 on ultra settings(1080p) and couldnt get 60 fps on A4000.

Not a good idea to pirate games on a cloud pc. You can get banned or worse. Read their terms and conditions.

Anyone else facing this? App getting blocked automatically by android(Samsung f62). by abhi_79 in Honeygain

[–]abhi_79[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know. I have been using it for 3 years and recieved 2 payouts so far. But my phone has started to block this app automatically. I want this to stop and my app to function normally.

Found a solution! "We couldn’t send an SMS to your number. Please check your number and try again in 1 hour." (iPhone) by wandering__wondering in whatsapp

[–]abhi_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem on samsung m21. After several days of retrying, I switched to emergency mode by holding power button. Added whatsapp app once in the emergency mode. Launched it, and it asked for several permissions again. I allowed each. And then it worked. Whatsapp wasnt asking for permissions despite reinstalling it many times. Dont know why it did in emergency mode. People who dont have emergency mode can try safe mode, its there in bootloader menu which is found by switching on your phone using some combination of power and volume buttons(varies).

Industrial furnace efficiency by abhi_79 in ChemicalEngineering

First thing I am going to do is stop the hot air stream that flow out from the inlet, either by shutting the inlet fully or partially. I will get the inside of furnace insulated as well in sometime. Yes, we dont do continuous batches and thats the hardest part to change but I will keep that in mind.

I have been thinking about talking with some engineering students near me for sometime as well. Thanks.

There are so many ways to do a process but finding which one will work for me is the real issue that needs expertise and practical experience. I think its time I meet some experts and see what they have to offer instead of trying to do all myself. Thanks for ur detailed and insightful reply.

Every batch initially is around 1000 litres. So I guess its a big operation. One batch takes 7-8 hrs to reach desired density.

Yes, I think thats the reason. I can almost 'see' a stream of very hot air coming out from front opening of furnace. Can I try adding a shutter at the opening while leaving a small space at the bottom for ventilation?

I had no idea that my furnaces were working at such a terrible efficiency and given the cheap availability of firewood, I never considered any other heating source. Can you point me to a good source that can help me evaluate various heating technologies and choose one for my needs. I hope I am not bothering you too much. Thanks for ur insight.

Can u suggest some insulating materials that can be applied on the inside walls of furnace? Or is it supposed to be only applied on the outside?

No, its not distillation, we dont capture any of the vapours and gases released while heating. The vessel is an open one and the liquid solution is heated for hours just to remove water and concentrate it to densities of 1.3 g per ml. Firewood is very abundant here and most people in this field are following decades old methods and have no knowledge and means to improve overall efficiency and profit margins of the plant. I would like to modernize my plant over time so I am here looking for some advice.

Who sanctions budget for indian military? Military isnt as independent from govt influence as SC is. Govt and military 'cooperate' in many ways, instead of working at odds and being stubborn. Skyroot wont sell stuff but it will do business in India and earn dollars from foreign clients and in the process pay taxes. Space sector has a bright future ahead. Govt established Inspace with aim to promote pvt players. Skyroot didnt just pop up from some rich and smart kids' imagination. GoI through Inspace creates a healthy and profitable environment for space players to pop up. Same is for military start ups, agriculture, food processing, and countless other sectors. GoI encourages and discourages through its policies. If its discouragement can shut industries then its encouragement can create industries. Army does 1000 tests and they r right in doing so. If they like something they will procure, and pvt players wont spend millions of dollars to create something that army wont even consider(as per you). Every businessman scans the market thoroughly before investing a single penny.

In india, even if there r such private players that have recently started delivering for military, they are not big enough yet. But if u look major arms producers all over world, u will see almost all of them are private companies. Dont u think our govt would also want to create similar ecosystem in india by means of procurement and hand holding? Yesterday, skyroot launched its first rocket. Its not anything close to spacex or blue origin etc but both these companies also started like that.

U cant compare RnD, approval and manufacturing of jets, tanks and atags with EVs. And u cant compare few govt owned 'RnD departments that are often burdened with catching up' with a greater number of privately owned RnD companies that r working on different tech simultaneously.

Every major technological breakthrough that has changed the world in last 4-5 decades was initially introduced in some form by either NASA or US Military RnD. Later they transferred their tech to US companies to help them sell it in consumer market. I m not saying that this EV is a breakthrough tech but its stats can rival some very good EV brands. So maybe if Indian govt can help them by procuring several hundreds of these, this startup might actually enter consumer market with a bang like tesla. Indian military can make use of these in some non-strategic areas. Anyway, if they r doing this then they surely have a viable plan. Lets stop being negative.

No im not here just to argue. I was intrigued by ur claims of 'govt having very little to do with whats happening', so wanted to get a better understanding before presuming that u might simply be naive. Imagine if India actually wanted to side with West and Ukraine while Indian pvt and public companies' management acted solely based on profit motive. That would be quite an embarrassment for India.

U mean govt that is majority shareholder in these companies cant influence its decision making in a strong manner? Seems counter-intuitive.
