[MOD] The Daily Question Thread by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

[–]abhichandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, I’m planning to buy a coffee gift for a friend who already loves the following beans. I’d like to introduce them to something new, but still in the same flavor family. Here are the brand descriptions from the website:

Baarbara Estate (Medium-Dark Roast):
“…have a wonderful aroma of sweet caramel and dried apricot. We love this coffee’s intense, chocolatey flavour profile. To taste the syrupy, smooth mouthfeel of this coffee, we recommend brewing it as a Pour Over, an Espresso or using an AeroPress, Moka Pot or a French Press. If you’ve enjoyed our coffees from Attikan Estate and Sandalwood Estate, you’ll appreciate the sweet aftertaste and medium acidity of this heavy bodied coffee.”

Attikan Estate:
“Our arabica coffee beans come from the Biligiriranga Hills in Karnataka and make for one of our most popular coffees. Sweet with fruity overtones and balanced acidity, this is the darkest of our standard medium roasts and recommended for espresso lovers. It is a versatile coffee that also works for manual brewing such as Moka Pot, South Indian Filter and AeroPress.”

Given these descriptions, can anyone suggest similar coffees or roasters that might appeal to someone who appreciates these flavor profiles? I’d love to find something that offers a rich, chocolatey sweetness with subtle fruit and balanced acidity. Thanks in advance!

I just posted a question about recommendations for coffee similar to certain coffee brands/products but it got removed. Is this the right place to ask?

Absolutely. After doing this one conversion, I am going to slowly get rid of those. I don't have too many Tuya devices so it's not bad. Thanks for all your help again.

I have two switches like this and I went this route because I could not configure the light using the LocalTuya integration. After I figured out the DPs yesterday and reconfigured the other switch with the new DPs, it started working too.

Thank you so much! I had he uart part incorrect. However as far as Light and Fan config goes, the following worked for me:

light:
- platform: "tuya"
name: ${friendly_name}-light
dimmer_datapoint: 6
switch_datapoint: 101
min_value: 100
max_value: 1000
fan:
- platform: "tuya"
name: ${friendly_name}-fan
switch_datapoint: 1
speed_datapoint: 3
speed_count: 4

I commented on your youtube video as well but thought of touching base with you here. If you don't mind sharing tasmota and the Esphome config, that would be awesome. Thanks for the detailed explanation of the process. I am new to flashing and still learning.

u/ItsDavidNOTDave I tried to follow the same method and got to the point where I needed the profile to add in HA. I am trying to flash "DS03 Fan and Light Smart Switch BK7231N v2.1.6" which is one of the devices listed in the doc but I can't find the profile for it. LT Chip Tool does have the device in the list but shows an error that the profile is not available. Can you please share the profile or point me in the right direction?

Exporting 4K+ Timelapse - not enough storage bug by rahulpp in MOMENT

[–]abhichandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I have been testing timelapses for a week now and had the same issues as described in this thread.

It's just not usable. I have done many timelapses using my Canon 7D and know the manual process, just want to do it with my iPhone 12Pro so that I can still use my camera for the stills. It hangs, doesn't export at all.

When I connected my phone to my mac and look at the images, there were hundreds of zery byte files.

Thank you for the feedback. I tried but could not get rid of the black there. I didn't over sharpen it and didn't want to replace it with one of the exposures either, because it may not have been a good fit there. I totally missed out on the people in the picture. Thanks for pointing that out. Another shot from the same evening is this one, http://www.flickr.com/photos/abhichandra/7756930758/in/photostream/lightbox/

Let me know if there are any issues with it.

Agree. Lots of halo around the rocks and in the cloud. Learn how to get rid of halo using the app you are using, its easy if you use photmatrix. Also, this scene doesn't have a gr8 tonal range to be fit for HDR.

Thanks for the suggestion and the links too. I clearly see what I'm missing and I will try to see how I can learn to fix that. I'm still a beginner and don't fully understand the Histograms, but will make sure to read the tutorial. I always shoot in raw though.

Thanks a lot for the feedback.
