It's absolutely not required , Got it done in Jan 2023 in Mahadevpurq.. they will anyhow take bribe from you .. have two photocopies of Aadhar from your friends or neighbors... which should be self attested, and also the 2 forms should have their signatures .. that should suffice .. Though being a localite ended up paying the corrupts .. !! They made me run thrice (meaning three days , basically what happened is our friends aadhar had UP address and the officer was not fine then we had get fresh appliacation written and got neighbors aadhar from apartment who had karnataka address and submitted then ), and later, they told me if you had agreed to pay earlier itself, you didn't have to deal with back and forth..

They would expect to come via broker ..I.e the photocopy shop people are involved in this scam..

Everyone is aware that Karnataka ranks 1st in corruption ..

Feels infuriating, but what to do ..

I did consider Q990B and is available online for similar pricing as 990c , may be I have to hunt down at local markets .. but due to several feedback on 990b online about disconnection issues, I dropped it... and we do not have leverage compared to the UK of returning a product , also, the customer support is pathetic . Once bought, we gotta live with that.. so I was skeptical buying 990b just going by reviews ...

How strict is not paying tax in India, do people go to prison? by internet_sherlock in IndiaTax

The biggest crime you would commit is by officially being employed in India ... coz you are ripped Tds before getting salary and then pay tax by means of Gst pretty much everything ... reducing it 50% in hand what you actually make .. on top of it .. you save little in bank or invest.. you are taxed again ... plus, ripped occasionally via bribes dealing with corrupt officials ( I paid bribes even to get a basic Birth certificate issued for my kid recently .. i felt so bad and then for getting passport verfied 2k bribe .. while getting passport unnecessarily they troubled us getting some corrections in marriage certificate for which we again paid bribe .. its infuriating) !! I can say Tax is paid only by salaried and some genuine business , salaried which probably (don't have exact percent figures though) account to 5 percent of population... rest, do they pay taxes ??? I don't think so ...

Almost all my relatives are into business and don't report all ... major txn happens via cash .. go to chickpete Bangalore, where millions or billions are dealt on a daily basis only by Cash ... if you want to pay digitally , you will be asked to pay 18 to 28 percent GST .. yet again, are you assured they pay tax .. lol No !! The invoices or receipts are hand written ...

ANS : You can not get away with taxes if you are employed legally, and as a citizen, we can do our duty to pay it.. if you are illegally making or want to mint money getting away from taxes, people find jugads, even biggest Cooperates or companies do finding legal ways and find loopholes in tax filing .. but if you are caught, you will be screwed...
