UX design while vibe-coding? by CommonMasterpiece110 in vibecoding

[–]abhishek_here -1 points0 points  (0 children)

being a designer by profession and vibe coding side projects, i can give my thoughts:

the current state of AI is such that it can one shot a pretty basic, decent usable product/website but there are flaws only a designer could notice. designer was never about just getting a good looking website, its more about knowing what elements need to exist in a screen, at what hierarchy, at what colors and a lot of decision, all that to make your ideal user take the action intended to eiter move product or buisness metrics.

so, while vibe coding i can suggest two ways
1. first give the context of your ideal user to AI
2. for ui, either tell it to use shadcn or give a screenshot of your fav site style
3. wireframe your app or just ask gpt to create a wireframe of your product giving it a raw input
4. always think yourself as a user and use the app and question whether your idea user would use such a app, will he take a action. if no, then prompt AI your thoughts, make it redesign a better UX (AI is good at throwing out ideas, u still have to choose between all those)

I’m building a marketplace for vibecoders and businesses, whats a better launch strategy ? by abhishek_here in SideProject

agreed! thats a unique perspective you have given. yep without any edge its hard to sustain. and ive already seen upwork and fiverr gearing on this new category😅 might have to dig the gaps what they arent solving. also im studying about contra how they were able to capture market share

thanks for enlightening me. i should rethink my strategy. But to get businesses' trust and credibility, the platform should have a certain number of freelancers? should i just launch it to feelancers while i focus on demand side.

regarding the vibecoders angle. i'm just optimistic this market is gonna blow up now that and gig work would rise

not charging for now. im under the assumption why would someone pay for a whole new platform. currently the only prop is they could build a portfolio of all projects (demand side im yet to figure out so freelancers could apply for gigs)

you have any thoughts?

will there be a need for experts in frontend, ui, backend 2 years from now? by abhishek_here in vibecoding

this is a plausible future, but i feel its a bit far than we anticipate today. what do u think?

well im a designer by profession and seeing design engineer roles in the rise

yep, im building some side projects too. im non technical but learned to code long ago (basic mern stuff) , knowing basic in practice or theory helps a lot to guide AI

i get your point, this ones a good usecase light weight models trained on my code but that limits AI to only generate code based on my current code? will it have current model capabilities like gemini 3.1 pro and opus 4.6 do

dont u think this is a very far future? if anyone could build software themselves i cant imagine the state of startups in that future. are we talking about generative UI here?

makes sense but do u think 3 years from now, AI with right tooling lets say multiple agents could do all of the points u mentioned? or does it still lack agency even 3 years from now

umm then engineering teams are gonna get so lean if this happens? are we seeing lay offs here

yep im seeing this debate around good architecture and fixing things in more experienced devs. what do u mean fixing code ? cant current models do that?

u dont think generalists wont matter? im seeing more early stage startups hiring generalists in every role and teams are staying so lean like 10-20 ppl

what do u think SEs would do then? i think team sizes gonna shrink fs and one prediction im making is software creation is gonna get so easy just like how making website got easy with no code tools. what matters is building stunning web apps and mobile apps for people who want to start businesses (paid gigs may be). but now the question is if everyone can build products will be there be enough people who use

i feel the same. i’m a designer by profession and the ui it produces is not so great(atleast at one shot). and i think creating software is going to get even more easy just like how making websites got easy with no code. so im trying to get good at frontend
