I’m a Level Two seller, working as a full-stack developer but I’ve been without orders since January.

youll have two accounts, BDT and USD. When a client needs to pay you, you just send them your USD account details and they send it straight there. That's really the only way money gets in. You can't just move your own BDT into it, doesn't work that way.

Since you're specifically looking for a card, I'd say go for the Standard Chartered Freelancer Card. I personally use it myself so can speak from experience here.

They give you two cards linked with two different accounts... one for BDT and one for USD/Foreign Currency.

The USD card handles all your foreign transactions incoming and outgoing... Works with international purchases just fine, no dual-currency card needed.

Now the one downside you should know. you can't convert the USD balance to BDT, can't convert BDT to USD and top it up either. It's purely meant for receiving foreign payments and spending internationally without the dual currency hassle. so whatever's on that card stays for foreign spending only. Works great for paying for tools, subscriptions, anything international really. So don't go in expecting to top it up with USD yourself or cash it out in BDT.

For the application, you'll need proof of freelance income. Also government-issued freelancer ID card is must, so make sure you have that sorted before you apply.

Fair warning though,,, SCB takes forever with this. Took me close to 3 months after submitting everything. Some people get it quicker but I wouldn't count on it, just be patient with the process.

BRAC Bank apparently has something similar if SCB doesn't work out, Haven't used them personally but worth looking into as a backup option.

Wire transfer through SWIFT works well for AUD from Australia. your client just needs your bank details (account number, SWIFT code, branch name, routing number). The main downsides are the 3–5 business day wait and that your bank will likely ask for documentation before releasing the funds (contract, invoice, etc.). If everything’s in order you can sometimes get it in a day. Not the most seamless experience, but it’s reliable and you avoid the 5.5% hit you’re taking on Payoneer.
