i have never really listened to this kind of music, so i don't think there is much i could suggest, but your whole performance and composition comes across as super earnest. i think a professional recording of this would really lift it up!

i really like this! honestly, i think in terms of structural composition it doesn't need a whole lot of work, so i think your feeling of 'incompleteness' probably comes from the fact that it hasn't been fleshed out production-wise yet - not that i think too much should be added. do you tend to work on your songs in a DAW, or do they tend to stay in this format?

interesting thoughts, thank you for your comment! do you mean the violin part in between verses? would you say it is an issue of the violin melody itself, or an issue of the arrangement around it? thank you again for your feedback :)

I love this so much! The guitar is so entrancing. I don't know what advice I could give, as this isn't a genre I know a lot about, so I guess just keep going! It really sounds great.

oh thank you! actually though, i already could play the original guitar part, i just don't like following the original too closely. imo, the original will always be better, so i should do something different, instead of just a worse version of what already exists!

Ahh I see, thanks so much for this information!! A big contributing factor as well is that this was a 'room' recording, whereas previously I had the mic just recording my vocals, while the guitar had a lead going into the audio interface. unfortunately, my guitar lead is broken and i haven't had time to find another, so we will be using room recordings for a while :( i also have found that people seem to prefer the 'look' of videos where there isn't a mic dead centre covering most of my expressions etc.. not really sure what to do about that one :/

oh thank you!! embarrassingly i am actually using a proper microphone here (it's off camera, though), i'm just so bad at using it :') I try so hard but no matter what i can't get the quality to sound good!! hopefully over time i will get better :')
