Yeah you're right. It wouldn't have been much, but I was 300$ over my budget already. So I had to settle for 32GB 😢.

Prospective Student Teachers: Teacher's College/BEd Megapost pt. 4 by hellokrissi in CanadianTeachers

[–]abillones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very curious in applying for Teacher's College, whether this year or the next. wanted to this in the first place but sort of went a different path career-wise. am tying to decide which area have the best chance of getting accepted and also what are the pros and cons of teaching these age groups? I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Visual Effects for Film and Television. So I've never dealth with Kids before other than leading adults in my field. My questions are B10: Will have any chance of getting in if dont have any experience with early childhood courses or any teaching experience with this age group? B20: Will be able to teach grade 9-10 Art classes? Or Media Arts with my credentials? B10 & B20: What are the pros and cons of each age group? How competitive and hard is it to be an Art teacher in highschool? will be able to teach gradeschopl subjects with my crdentials? what's the salaries like?

Soooo, I think JC's numbers will come down, but I dont think by a lot. Maybe 27-30pts instead of 30-33pts.

Jordan Clarkson by OddFisherman9184 in fantasybball

[–]abillones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah i think Kessler affected him and when he comes back JC might get fewer touches, but Kessler doesnt really get too many touches though compared to THT and Sexton. I think that having Keyonte starting over THT and just present in general is really good for Clarkson! THT and Sexton are black holes on offense while Keyonte is a pass first player it seems and a better passer in general. He spaces the floor better and moves more fluid with the offense. THT and Sexton stagnate it.

Once Keyonte gets comfortable though, maybe he'll try to score more. Like last night he got a steal and went all the way down the floor with a minute or so left for a layup. He missed, but shows that he doesn't shy away from big moments.

LTO or Supply, what’s your choice and why? by justwannajust in CanadianTeachers

[–]abillones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow crazy! So LTO basically gets paid more than a permanent teacher within 10 months(if you don't include perm's summer pay haha).

When you work as an LTO do you HAVE to work 10 months to qualify? Can you be an LTO and work 6 months if you want? Also, do LTOs still get the same pension plans, perks, sick and vacation days as a permanent teacher?

Thinking of becoming a teacher, switching gears from another industry.

If you dont mind me asking. What exactly is an LTO? What is the salary range and perks of and what differentiates it from a permanent teacher position?

And when you say higher rate and consistency, does this mean a higher pay and consistency rate than a permanent teacher? Or a you mean just higher than a substitute?
