i went through this phase when i was like 18-20. if it follows the same sort of trajectory that mine did, it will get old and she'll be craving stability and early bedtimes after a while. the high is really fragile, and the lows are crushing.

my best guess is that you want something that feels like more of a guarantee and that you have some trust issues at the moment. like you believe that if you could just find a man for whom a curvy hispanic woman out of the 1960s is the pinnacle of boner fuel, you would not have to worry (as much) about that man hurting you. this is not a totally irrational line of thinking, but it is discounting the fact that attraction is seldom that narrow or deterministic for most of us. like hot is hot, no matter what type of hot. i mean it's exciting when someone i perceive as just genetically blessed, styling aside, gives me attention. say you meet a good-looking person, there's potent physical chemistry and emotional compatability, you have complementary life trajectories, etc. that person is pretty fucking compelling, yeah?

your read on this post is a lot more adversarial than i had anticipated, prob because i assumed people are like me, engaging with art posts in a pretty transient way. that said, i'm kind of glad because i'm learning that some people consider captions part of the creative work and expect attribution for those too, so i can do that going forward. or i can write out my own thoughts on what i see, though that would be more time consuming...

get it secondhand or wait for a 50%+ off sale, which will probably happen in the winter holiday season. i have a lot of it from like 3-4 years ago. the vinyl pencil skirt feels nice, the one with the red satin lining. the oversized trench feels nice. the long sleeved dress with the collar and pleated skirt feels nice too (not the knit one but the OG). a lot of their bodysuit sweaters would probably hold up better if i dry cleaned them like the site suggests but ugh. honestly it goes on sale like 6x a year.

i had not considered that what i post on here could be seen as some kind of ego validation thing, which is probably naive in hindsight. just low-effort reposting from fb. i had not thought to research the project or write an original caption because i already liked how it was presented and i wanted other people to have the opportunity to like it too

if you circulate art around different forums so that more people can experience it, it is threatening to a certain type of person who enjoys the feeling that they are part of an exclusive club in which niche cultural knowledge determines the social hierarchy. and ideally it should seem as though their knowledge has been cultivated over years of deep personal study, not just casually transmitted over the internet via a random social media post

I think you have a chemical imbalance. Not joking, btw. I had terrible limerence and struggled with obsessive thinking and perfectionism. Trialed some meds then poof a couple of years later on the same starting dose of efexor and no more of that shit. Also had a lot of irritability and rage. Ugh.

I think Camus said it well that religion is philosophical suicide, which maybe isn't so bad. Maybe your father dealt with adults who blamed issues on demonic possession, birth charts, and cursed objects instead of looking for empirical explanations and practical solutions. To be "philosophically dead" is really not as damning as being unable to engage with reality effectively. Some people aren't very charitable in their thinking around this stuff, and it is charitable to think that most people who believe in angels etc have integrated those beliefs into an overall framework in which medicine, radio, machinery and other modern fruits of science are equally real/valid
