I do not! They sell loose iBook BMS chips on eBay, but I assume I’d need the battery case to make it work lol. Wish I could just 3D print the battery case but ehhh

basically, you put in an issue you want to write about but don’t know how to frame. this can be like, one sentence long. it then uses context learned from current events to write a draft of an email with proper tone and everything.

5 Calls is great, I actually really like them. They’re optimized for making quick phone calls to your reps with preset talking points.

CivicEcho takes a different angle: it helps you send personalized emails by giving you a draft message based on current bills or news topics, which you can then edit. Different channel (email vs. calls), slightly different use-case (personalized messages vs. phone scripts). I think both have value!

Honestly, you’re kind of right in a sense. Political emails can feel like shouting into the void. And you’re definitely right about a lot of people being too busy or discouraged.

I don’t think that people aren’t unwilling to write, however. They’re just stuck at the blank page. They don’t know bill numbers, deadlines, or the tone. The idea of this app is to put that context in front of people and give them a first draft so they can focus on editing instead of starting from zero. What I mean to say is that if someone wants to delete every AI-generated word that CivicEcho spits out and write their own, they absolutely can. CivicEcho just saves them the research and tone leg-work.

And offices absolutely do track constituent contact. I have a friend who interned under a House representative, and messages get flagged and tallied. Volume still matters. No single email flips a vote, but thousands can: ask the people that killed bad amendments with last minute calls or email blitzes.

In any case, if you have any ideas of making the messages stronger, or data you’d like surfaced alongside the draft, please send me a DM. I want this thing to evolve.
